I had to smile while watching an interview with Steven in London last year, he stated that his fans seem to think they have the right to state their points of view about what he does and how he performs, etc, that they don't have the right but that think they do, he smiled when he said that, so did I.

So...you two have concurred that my post is untrue, and that I am influenced by the media.
How do reach such conclusion if you don't even know me (or of me)?

A: He's oblivious to anything but himself.
If a question is asked...it obviously seeks an answer. This answer of course will be relative. True for me...untrue for you. Why? Because we have different reference points. Now...don't take it so serious it's only an opinion...and we know what is said about those.
Tigerfeet, I'm well aware of his philantropic work.
Has it occurred to you that people with money use philantropy as an investment in themselves. Having studied Philantropy and been involved in Non-for-profit management I'm well aware of how things work. Not only is good for the image...and a tax deduction...in some cases it can be used for money laundering, to pay for services that cannot be disclosed, if one has transportation available (as he does) it can be used for moving certain goods unnoticed, etc, etc... Now, don't kill the messenger. I am not saying that this is what he does. It's just a possibility for anyone (generally speaking).
I don't doubt that he has a good side like all of us, but he is not perfect. And...he is a better business man than anything else. So...I believe money comes first for him.
As for what the media says: who cares?
If you (and Halkush) knew me...you'd know that I don't watch tv, read newspapers, and such. So, there is no way that my opinion is based on such. I never mentioned the media in my post, so I wonder where you got that from?
Needless to say all the gossip about him that I have heard/read...has come from this site. Not directly from the media.
And, Halkush...I am not passing judgement on the man or anyone.
My opinion of SS comes from having friends in common, yet it is not a concrete one. I always give the benefit of the doubt.
You are free to think (speak/write), so am I. Isn't it nice?

Wow Jalu you certainly say some things that have got me thinking, I suppose because I had seen sparks in that direction regarding philanthropy but not necessarily regarding SS.
It's good that we can all share our opinions and good that they are wide ranging otherwise it would get dull on here. This site is far from that!

Yes dear...some people have no idea how much money can be made from (apparently) loosing money or by giving it away. Sadly it happens more often than one would think.
I hope that SS does the right thing and brings much needed help to those in need.
I'm all for sharing...although my opinions are not necessarily popular all the time. I think that having awareness of what we are all capable off (good/bad) makes for better integrated human beings. I believe that looking at both sides of the coin and not being shaken by it makes one more tolerant instead of just focusing on the good side of things/people. If we only do that we are setting ourselves up for disappointment.
I hope that SS does the right thing and brings much needed help to those in need.
