anyone here seen any ringo lam films pre 1996???.....i have only seen the 2 van damme films replicant and maximum risk and i liked both but just wondering what lam is like with a limited budget....

I've seen his classic Hong Kong films City on Fire and Full Contact, both starring the brilliant Chow Yun Fat. Those films were well crafted thrilling action movies that actualy had story and character. Full Contact was Lam's best Hong kong film by far.

A bit of trivia here for you rastafari but did you know that "City On Fire" was the movie that inspired Quentin Tarantino to make "Resevoir Dogs".

Nearly every critic states that Lam's film is superior to Tarantino's, so I'm assuming its pretty good.

Peace.

i looked up on imdb for reviews and most said it was very good so ill watch and hope.....one thing i noticed watching maximum risk and replicant is that lam takes a fairly unoriginal story in both cases and makes the film interesting(something obliwitz cannot do as both foreinger and out for kill had potential but was wasted)
