Yesterday I catched Saturday Night Live on a Finnish cable TV -channel and to my pleasant surprise, it was the one with Seagal from 1991.
I was thinking, cause this obviously was his first appearance in the show, in how many episode's has he been a quest host? At least two I think.
I wasn't aware before of his singing number in this particular show! Well, not exactly a "number", but he sung most of the classic Carl Douglas song, "Kung Fu Fighting". It would be interesting to see him on a stage today, cause I think he has probably improved a lot as a musician from those days.
His acting in the comedy bits was, well, a bit uneven thing. Maybe the bits (as the "Tenelli" -piece) weren't so well written (SNL has been sometimes quite overrated) or then he felt a bit uncomfortable doing that sort of thing in that quite the early stage of his acting career.
He's of course not a comedy actor, but I thought his timing was excellent in "Exit Wounds" and the Mountain Dew -commercial.
It was also fun to hear him talking in this broad Brooklyn accent during the whole show - but of course "Out For Justice" had just premiered prior to the SNL -filming. He's doing a decent accent and it fit like a glove in the movie, but in a live comedy show it was maybe a bit awkward.
Well, these are just my thoughts - it's not every day you see Seagal impersonating Andrew Dice Clay and one has to talk about after experiencing it
