Steven Seagal Does Casting For GENGHIS KHAN In Beijing (MonkeyPeaches Exclusive)

March 6, 2003

According to Beijing Times, Steven Seagal has arrived in the city for his GENGHIS KHAN. Besides casting several martial-art actors, Seagal was looking for a tall and pretty girl who can dance. He said he would personally teach her martial art. More than 20 girl models represented by Pierre Cardin has been interviewed by Seagal last night at a restaurant. Seagal said "the script is done and the finance is secured - about 60 million dollars (US). But I can't tell you the source of the money. You have wait until the news conference next time. It hasn't been decided yet who would be the partner of GENGHIS KHAN, but I can assure you the shooting will start in March or April next year."

According to IMDB the movie "Ghengis Khan" is already made. Check "Ghengis Khan (2004)" on IMDB and then look at official site. There is a link to the productioncompany and they write about another person playing Ghengis. Is this for real???
If it's so then Steven is out of the picture...

Huh??? Well, I would guess that IMDB has some trolls playing with things, but that is just a guess, though...I heard anyone can post anything they want there...So it might not be for real...But then we don't know what all he's been up to really, maybe if he wrote the story he sold it, could be...It would have taken ages for that movie to be made the way he wanted it to be made...Anyone else here know anything about the Genghis project?

ok, I see what you are talking about...I say there are probably lots of movies with that title, and this is a different one...So, if made they'd just have to call it something else,
I guess...Not sure really...Who ever publishes it first would have the title rights I guess...
I don't know if it (Steven's version) is still going to be made or if 'into the sun' is the new name for it or what...
I heard here, though, that this movie was a film that was once talked about with his ex partner, so maybe he decided not to go forward with it because of the legal trouble it could bring by money mongers who might like to falsely accuse him of doing something shady with what they might call their ideas, and try to extort him...
I think he's wise to leave it alone if so, there are other projects out there....

Noooo!

I think your on to something there. The thing with Nasso wasn't pretty and if that's so we are not getting to see SS as Ghengis. That's so BS!

But I say as a always does, a long as he makes US3 :cook: I'm a happy man. Looking forward to se "Belly of the Beast" as well. Is it better then his lo'mark OFAK?

Belly Of The Beast?Ummm...You either can read TD's review and agree with that or you can read it and disagree,or you can skip all the reviews and either disagree or agree if you like it or not...But yet the best would be to see it first and then think on whether you agree or disagree.

Give it another chance!

I want Steven to try really hard to do this film. We have the last year seen "Troy" and there are more of these films to come.
"Ghengis Khan" would be a great project for Steven to work with and ones again get out to a larger audience.
If the film is wellproduced this would be a blockbuster.

I think if they don't do it soon enough, it won't succeed as others of the type.

Remember a few years back, there was that time when war movies were popular ("Behind Enemy Lines" ... "Tears of The Sun" sort of movies) and it cooled down ... Now, they're historical battle movies. I don't know, but if Steven Seagal does decide to proceed with the picture and the timing has passed, it just might not be accepted as well ... But it does sound like it would be a big, artistic project.
