Anneliee, I was Steven's neighbor in Fullerton on Commonwealth avenue when he was 17-18, so he was NOT in Japan. I was taking an aikido class at the time and took him with me to see if he would like it--he did. He played passable guitar and a member of his 3 member "band" was a great classical piano player. I was asked to be their manager but I was getting a master's degree at the time.

the early days

There are many of us who know Steven's (Steve's) early years. But most would not even think to join this forum. I did because my cousin who is acquainted with him through the Aspen crowd got me curious about him

When I first saw movie trailers of him I really didn't recognize him except for the slightly changed name and the martial arts theme. He was one of the most beautiful boys I had ever met: thin build, long curly hair and the longest eyelashes that I have ever seen on either man or woman. I think that now when he looks in the mirror he probably hates his looks. On the negative side, he was painfully VAIN and extremely self centered. But an interesting person never the less and even though I had never seen him really angry I can see the potential for him to kick guys in the balls and I can see why his ex wives are totally fed up with him..

Steven? Long eyelashes??! :O haha what?:D

Exactly, I figure his eyelashes disappeared at about the same time that he probably eradicated his art nouveau like hand gestures. Too bad-- they were absolutely mesmerizing.
