Good guys should always defeat bad ones, S. Seagal

ALMATY. September 26, 2006. KAZINFORM. /Yelena Iliinskaya/ Cinema is a strong force. It is the language which unites all the states, continents, people and religions, the honorary guest of the III International Film Festival Eurasia 2006, Hollywood actor Steven Seagal told today in Almaty.
Cinema should teach justice, teach that sooner or later the evil will be punished, action movie actor Seagal noted. According to him his dream is to bridge Asia, Europe and America and unite people of various confessions, and make them live in peace and accord like Kazakhstan nationals do.

i dont mean to be rude-definitely not meant with bad intentions-but i thought that now since he has some down time, is preparing for the biggest project in almost 6 years...he would be getting down to losing some weight...i guess not

Steven Seagal: “I have come to Kazakhstan to play Chingis Khan”

“I have personally come to Kazakhstan to play Chingis Khan,” Steven Seagal stated at a press conference on September 26, who has come to International Eurasia Film festival, opened in Alma-Ata on September 25, a REGNUM correspondent informs.

The actor explained; there were two reasons for his visit to Kazakhstan. First, he wanted to visit the film festival, second, he was going to work on Chingis Khan Project. Mr. Seagal stated to have Mongolian roots; the fact made Chingis Khan a very important person for him. Unfortunately, there are no films or major projects, devoted to Chingis Khan, in the USA, he is quoted as saying. There have been some minor projects — films in China, Japan, and Mongolia. According to Mr. Seagal, he has been thinking about the project for 17 years. The actor says he spoke to the Kazakh culture minister; the latter persuaded him that the republican government wished to produce the film in Kazakhstan. Seagal believes, the project may be realized in Kazakhstan, which will become one of world centers of film industry. He stresses that probably the script, which was presented for Kazakhstan’s government is not very interesting from the film-making point of view; however, it is interesting due to the fact that all details of Chingis Khan’s life are shown and described very accurately and exactly.

October 2, 2006 -- KAZAKHSTAN despises Borat - and now it's finding out that Steven Seagal is just as irritating. The bloated, has-been action star was invited to the Eurasia Film Festival in Almaty and quickly displayed amazing arrogance. Everywhere Seagal went at the fest, he was accompanied by a slew of sullen bodyguards and other hangers-on. At one party, the posse formed a ring around him to keep fans from taking his picture, The Post's V.A. Musetto reports. Then, at a film studio ceremony, Seagal and company arrived in a motorcade of black cars, their horns drowning out a talk by the studio chief. "You'd think that Seagal was actually important," one American muttered.

I know that is not very good but it's news..
