Steven Seagal Gets A Badge In Texas

Celebrity pot busts put tiny Texas county on map
Saturday, Jan 28, 2012 | Updated 8:38 PM CST

Among the few remaining businesses dotting a rundown highway in the dusty West Texas town of Sierra Blanca stands what's become a surprise destination for marijuana-toting celebrities: the Hudspeth County Jail.

Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and actor Armie Hammer have been among the thousands of people busted for possession at a Border Patrol checkpoint outside town in recent years. And it's bringing some notoriety to one of Texas' most sparsely populated counties.

Now Hudspeth County cameos aren't only for outlaws. Action movie star Steven Seagal has signed on to become an officer. Seagal's already deputized in two other states for an A&E reality show.

Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West insists the "Under Siege" star hasn't indicated plans to film in Texas -- but the sheriff isn't ruling it out either.

I wonder how he manages his time between all the different areas he is deputized in?

To my knowledge, with what has appeard in the media, he has left Louisiana, as the were going to force him thru an internal affairs investigation, even after the sexual assault allegations were dropped, and I think AZ may be off the table too due to the cockfighting ring raid and all the media and leagal circus surrounding it

Thank you Barbara. I heard he relocated to Arizona and Lawman was going to be based out of there, just wondering how he divides his time between these different areas. Or maybe he is moving out of Arizona as a result of the media attention that you mentioned?..

I would assume AZ is off the table as the TX position is 40hrs a week, so, full time for him..
BUT, AZ is close to TX, so depending on the geographic issues, he may be sharing his time....

I have a feeling that he's in TX now because he loves protecting and serving since he's been doing it for over 20 yrs. Then when people got a hold of him in Lousiana on Lawman and with all of the hype it wasgreat at first then that b%$$ started the lawsuit and he left to help AZ. That went wrong because of the lawsuit over the cock fighting ring. Now the TX Sherriff says that he has no plans to do Lawman out there. He's just gonna teach firearms and martial arts to the cops. There's always someone (chick with lawsuit) who messes it up for everyone else.

ACTUALLY....I JUST looked at the US map, and MY BAD...New Mexico is between AZ and TX...so, unless he is taking a private jet or something, that is one HELL of a commute!!

That's true....the judge would be like "And what are the Plaintiff's demands?" and we'd be all like "24/7 access to Steven and all of his "things".........OOOPS!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding!
But I really do hope that the Texas gig, if that is his only Law Enforcement job at the moment, segues into another TV show, even if it is the Lawman show concept, but on another station.
A station that IF the show wasn't going to air...gee, MAYBE they MIGHT advise the viewers well in advance, not TWO WEEKS before it is scheduled to return

(whew...I feel better now...thanks for letting me vent about that)
