Seagal not included in action stars list...

This shows you the bias in these "polls". I believe these action stars were basically chosen on their current box office draw and their marketability.
Maybe they will include a few older stars in there for some sort of recognition to legitamize there voting selection.

These polls are essentially meaningless and I would not give them any weight.

I'd agree only to the point that Seagal has not done any recent major theatrical releases so he would not be considered current and "trendy" any longer for Hollywood.

How Kean Reeves is in the mix, I'll never know!

Action stars I grew up with were:
Clint Eastwood
Bruce Lee
Charles Bronson
Lee Marvin
Sean Connnery
Steve Mcqueen
Clint Walker

Action movies now are all about the CGI. The suspension of disbelief in these movies is getting harder and harder to swallow. Everyone knows it's a special effect, and it's become so commonplace, it's practically a yawn. "Action movies" are now about what the guys down in IT can come up with, not what the star can realistically do himself. CGI and wire fu has pretty much destroyed the action movie genre.

And stunt doubles in Steven's movies have pretty much destroyed his standing as an action star, so I'm not surprised he's not on the list. Walking onto the set, looking grim for a couple of camera shots and then walking off the set while the stunt doubles do all the real work does not, in my opinion, qualify the "name" - be it Steven or anyone else - as an "action star". The movie might be an action movie, but stunt doubles do not an action movie star make.

Sorry. It's one of the reasons that I've stopped watching his films post Out of Reach. It's almost embarrassing to watch the stunt doubles when I know he's perfectly capable of doing the work himself. I feel like I'm being cheated.

i agree his recent film are pretty ****e but i think you should watch into the sun as its a decent film.

That is a wonderful list! America is a very trendy place. I wonder if Seagal would ever consider doing an edgy independent film?
