Stories about Seagal (from director's , co-stars....)

Seems like a nice guy.

Nice to see / hear some behind-the-scenes from one of his classic movies - the DVDs of them are so threadbare with not much in the way of extras beyond trailers we've seen a million times already.

Had heard of the alternate ending of his head being impaled on the fireplace spikes and catching on fire but was never sure if they actually shot it. The "take that to the bank" from the trailer is apparently from the alternate ending.

Nice also to hear one his co-stars speaking positively about him too, makes a refreshing change.

He gave a lot of inside about the person Steven Seagal when he is on set. To be honest this is exactly the way Matthieu Weschler described him. As a director you have to know how to handle him. Give him a good feeling, tell him that he also gets some input but that you are in charge, be honest with him, and respect him and you will get it in return. This was also the way Roel Reine approached Steven. And that shows on screen. That is where Alexander Gruszynski and Michael Keusch failed. If you have a fall out with Seagal he f*cks up your movie. That's the way it works.

Interesting to listen to that little segment, said what we all know how the movie industry works like just thinking about the money and Seagal, well, just being himself and wanting what he wants haha.

That Empire article is great Dida
It's one of the few write-ups that actually treats Seagal, his status and the circumstances with respect (without the usual 'lame' catcalling)
His detractors forget that he once a genuine A-Lister at the time.
Personally, I like ODG.....but I do wish he'd have made a few more big budget 'generic' movies for Warners (to solidify his superstar status) before rushing into a 'personal' movie (like ODG) Stuff like 'The Glimmer Man' would have been a bigger successes (had he not soured audiences with the preachiness of ODG) If he's have played the game with Warners for the 4 movie contract....I think he'd still be with them now?
He should have followed up Under Siege with either 'Blood On The Moon' (which still could have incorperated 'aikido' into it's plot of man vs modern day pirates, whilst still offering it's star a slight change of pace) or 'The Specialist' or 'Drop Zone' (both of which he was linked to at the time)
Not entirely sure how he'd incorperate aikido into 'Men Of Honour' though?

Yeah, reading up on good or positive stories or reports seems to be a rare thing. I hope we just hear something from the man himself, he's been silent for a long time now, no video updates, no photos, nothing :(

Stallone´s "The Specialist" and Snipes "Drop Zone" were not huge hits.

His love for the environment and his increasing weight destroyed his career. He was not able to keep his weight. It started with "Under Siege 2".
