The Foreigner grosses ...

 I've been wondering why "Thew Foreigner" as not been more publicized. From what i've heard; its almost impossible to find in retail stores for sale-at least in Florida. I ordered mine from one of the online stores..I know people that have been looking for it in Florida and cannot find it for sale and its not listed in the new releases, even in the Miami Herald advertizing section for the various retail stores..What is the reason for this..?

The way it was expained to me, being that it was a direct to video release the stores will not be selling it for some time..oh they would order it for you for a small fortune. But I too had to order over the internet.

 In this case Amos why do they have an official release date for it if its not really official? I've never seen this with other direct to video releases..

Are you talking about being able to purchase DVD or VHS ? Both have been available to rent, and the DVD has been available to purchase. The VHS (video) is ALWAYS for ALL movies priced for rental first - meaning they price it too high to purchase right away, they want the revenues from the rentals. Then after a bit, they reduce the price of the VHS to allow for purchase.

And you can always go to your local Blockbuster and purchase a previously viewed edition of the VHS, provided the Bahamas has one....

 I understand all that jhogan: Its just that Foreigner has not been put out as a mass release for sale on dvd. Some places like Suncoast and Walmart and Target and Best Buy and many other retail stores dont have any copies for sale and I find that amazing. I ordered mine from www.bn.com and it is widely available online from many sites but it has not been advertized at all in and throughout Florida. In the new release section in the dvd advertizements in the Miami Herald there is no mention of it either. If you are not a Seagal fan and follow his news closely you would never know that this movie was released at all.

Gotchya'. I guess it depends on where you are. Where I live, all those stores you mentioned, except Suncoast because there is none where I live, carry it. But I agree, advertising has been nil.

ok. You know perhaps it's just because dvd is getting so popular, maybe that's why I can't find a VHS copy...I know, I so need a dvd player, but we may be moving, and I am trying to get rid of what I have! Anyway, I guess I'll have to order it off the net...
I mean I'm super shopper extraodinaire, I figure, if I can't find it in the store no-one can, baby! :D

I even had trouble renting it at Blockbusters in Houston. I guess
I too will have to order from the net. I was waiting because I
want to replace some of my VHS with DVD, so have not ordered it
yet. Since Half Past Dead is supposed to be for sale on DVD
in March I thought I would order both at same time.

Considering the movies are going direct to video & not being publicized..you would think the least they would do to get his fans to be able to watch his movies..is to make the movies more accessible!

Tora, why dont you just buy a region 1 dvd player? Then you can purchase any Seagal film or any other film for that matter whenever you want to. Dvd players are'nt that expensive especially if you are a movie buff or a fan of Seagal..
