The Tip of the Spear

This project is cooking for years. I spoke with Waxman in February. He told me he spoke with Steven about new projects but nothing has come together yet. About Tip of the Spear he said 'hopefully we'll make it one day'.

As for now Waxman will be filming an action movie in Hong Kong at the end of the year (without Steven) and a sequel of The Hard Way will be shot in Romania before that.

Thank you for the update, DiDa!
Well, looks like just someone who was bored changed the status to "pre-production" on imdb then, sadly. :(
I doubt the project will go forward with a different director.

It's looking increasingly more and more likely that we won't get a new movie from Seagal. Shame, I feel he has one good performance left in him, but he must pull out all the stops and really put his heart and soul into it... and raise his voice haha!

If it’s going to be another Contract to Kill, End of a Gun or A Good Man, can’t say I’m that interested any more. Was looking forward to The Swordsman but is that one even happening? A movie just came out called The Swordsman so am guessing the title would have to changed it is. Wish he would drop the goatee I miss the old Seagal.

I think I am the only one that prefers the goatee. They try to cover Seagal’s weight gain with fancy editing, clothing and filming (which for the most part they do a pretty good job). Some of his better DTV films, I find them hard to watch or distracting due to his size. Pretty difficult to hide weight gain in someone’s face. Driven to Kill as an example because you can really see the weight gain in his face, he almost looks bloated. With the goatee, it covers his double chin and makes the weight gain less noticeable. I wish he had it in some of his better DTV to make the up close shots of his face less distracting... I am sorry this post is all about his weight. I just find that films like attrition I found it less of an issue because of clothing choices and the goatee. I am sure almost everyone will disagree but ‍♂️

I also like the goatee!
Also I quite like to see from time to time a Waxman-Seagal team up. For me it's the equivalent of comfort food. Also I have fun guessing where they used body doubles or how they are passing Romania for being another location. So I don't kwow the news of anothe project got me a bit excited. That said I haven't seen all the Waxman-Seagal colaborations so maybe I should get around to see those before looking foward for a new film.
Greetings!

The only Seagal / Waxman film i didn’t mind was the first, The Keeper. For me, everything since has been a downward spiral of uninteresting, uninvolving, unmemorable tedium. Quite literally the only reason I watched A Dangerous Man, Cartels, Maximum Conviction, Contract to Kill, End of a Gun, Force of Execution and A Good Man is Seagal. If he wasn’t in them, I would have zero interest as nothing else about them appeals to me. If you want to watch a halfway decent recent Seagal movie, watch Attrition.

I actually like The Keeper aswell and in my opinion it's one of Seagal's better films from the past 15/20 years. I've seen a few of Waxman his other films and they're nothing special for DTV films tbh (they mostly don't use any 'tricks' to hide Seagal's weight)

I prefer (or at least, don't mind) the goatee too (like my own goatee......It hides a multitude of 'chins') :D
Personally I thought Seagal looked quite trim in (most of) 'DRIVEN TO KILL' (which is one of my fave films of any Seagal-era)
As much as we all bemoaned the (once non-stop slew of) Waxman/Seagal flicks....I'd take a new one in a heartbeat?

Tip of the Spear likely won’t happen but mark my words there will be more movies. I have no insider information but I don’t think Seagal is done making movies... I guess time will tell. Hopefully he can make another movie of at least Attrition quality. One last movie he cares about to end his film career

If there was something else like Attrition in the pipeline I’d be interested but am distinctly unexcited about another Seagal / Waxman movie. Mostly because I pretty much know exactly what I’ll be getting. After the likes of Contract to Kill and Cartels, the latter so uninteresting it makes me want to fall asleep, am rapidly losing interest. Attrition was different, had interesting moments and you could feel it was more of a Seagal passion project. Driven to Kill is one of my faves too. Had the usual audio issues but also had great fights, a solid story and decent action. Also loved the Russian music during the fights to give it more flavour.
