Mathis Landwehr - The Next Generation

I would like to say that I agree with take-sensei on his list, and what Dragonking said about the old Masters.

A friend of mine, Lightening Bear, who is a stuntman and worked on Billy Jack, and also trained with Bruce Lee in the 1960s, told me that for a small man, Bruce Lee, had such power in his fighting technique, it was explosive. One day he was training with Bruce, and was knocked clear across the room. Lightening Bear is about 6'2"!!!

I recently met and became friends with a martial artist in Germany called Mathis Landwehr, and he is a person to watch. Have a look on his youtube page and judge for yourself. He recently released a movie in Germany called Kampfansage, sequel out soon. He is an extremely dedicated and hardworking martial artist, and I am proud to be his friend.

As for the older martial artists, including Chuck Norris - these people have had their day and with regard to David Carradine, he trained as a dancer! The same goes for Jean Claude Van-Damme, who studied ballet.

Steven Seagal is obviously older now, and a bit slower, but still a great martial artist.

Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez was a great fighter and martial artist... one of my favourites, back in the day. But yeah - the best ones are gonna be the one's out of the spot-light, that we'll never hear of or meet.

Yes I have Kampfansage on DVD it is an excellent movie. The martial arts in it are very well done. Glad to hear there is a sequel too.

Hi Craig, I am pleased that you have seen 'Kampfansage', yes it is a good movie, filmed on quite low budget!

Attached is a picture with myself, Mathis and Joe Robinson (in black shirt). Joe is 80 years old and still practicing martial arts, he is an 8th Dan Judo and 5th Dan in Karate and played Peter Franks in 'Diamonds are Forever'. We did a little friendly sparring!

Nice picture, Joe certainly does not look 80 years old.

I ordered Kampfansage after reading the excellent article and review it got in Impact magazine. I had a look at my old posts as i was pretty sure i had posted about it before on this site, but couldn't find anything.

I think Jackie Chan is a good martial artist but his movies are a little bit stupid to me (The Smoking, Accidental Spy, The Medallion..), and I can't stand Jean Claude Van Damme. He's fake, I think his karate skills are all fake, and that he's just a commercial phenomenon. And he's also an alcoholist jacked up on drugs. Puke!

I dont really think you can say ones better then the other because each and every one of them wether they be living or not had/has there own uniqueness...and they have worked hard and long to get to where they are now..yes steven is great but there is going to be someone to come along one day and be better then him and iam sure that he would be only to happy to welcome them into the wonderful world of kick ass i mean Martial arts...
