Why are there dubbing Seagal´s voice in movies?

I´ve read that in his new movie"Submerged" they again changed Seagal´s voice.
That´s unbelievable....
Can someone tell me why the hell are they dubbing Seagal´s voice?

I think the budget was not enough to pay Seagal for participating in the post-production process. Or time-scheduling conflict: Seagal was working on other projects when he film was in post-production.

I think it has to do with his scheduling..maybe the next time Suziwong is around snapping his photo she could pass a note along to him asking him to please not use the dubbing so much :)

Yeah thats it. There are some scenes where the audio-quality is bad, or scenes from far away. And after the filmling process Steven is gone away, and the post-productions guys trying to imitate Steven :)

The thing is, with today's technology, Steven does NOT have to be in the same country where post-production takes place. All he has to do is go into any decent recording studio, have a digital version of the movie running so he can dub, say his lines, and be out of there in half a day, all done.

The real reason is that he simply can't be bothered, especially for these low-budget pieces of rubbish he's inflicting on us. He stepped up for Into the Sun because it was originally supposed to be a theatrical release, and therefore it had a decent budget (and probably a producer who had a firm enough hand to make him do it).

Considering that even for these low-budget flicks he's making he's still taking in a cool 3-million dollars per picture, I should think for that fee, he could spend half a day in a recording studio re-recording his dialogue.

" he simply can't be bothered"

I think no one risks a 15-20 million dollar budgeted production because X or Y cannot be bothered. Everything is written in contracts, if he has to do it, he does it, if he don't, he don't.

We simply don't have enough information to tell the answer, all we can do is to guess. But we have no information about this being Seagal's fault. But I think every expert who was working on the movie tried to take the best decision possible, so we simply have to accept that this was the best decision possible.

Then why bother making the movie at all? The fact is, if he cared about the final product, he'd do the post-production work - and who writes a contract that doesn't ensure post-production, even if it is a low-budget film? Lots of low-budget films out there and those participating in them step up and do the post-production work.

He's the highest-paid contributor to the film, the star. He has an obligation to see it through to the end. He doesn't, because he can't be bothered. He knows the film is going to be rubbish, so why exert himself?

Sorry, Kcs, but making excuses for him just doesn't wash with me.

I think you just about hit the answer on the nose with that.

I agree with that... Its not "soo" much work... And his fans would be extreme thankful.
