Haha - well spotted TD. Your axe was wielded swiftly and decisively, and my foul tongue was once again curbed.

You know when Jesus was born, didn't an ox and an ass watch over the little dude as he slept in his manger? Or would you prefer me to use the term 'donkey'?

Well, as that old saying goes - along the following lines:- Medicine that is good for you generally tastes foul. lol!

However, as I, myself, have never tried this said 'Lightning Bolt' I am unable to comment on its taste, but if it did
prove to give me an energy boost, or whatever, then I would drink it, whatever it tasted like - also nothing stopping
anyone mixing it with another more palatible flavour if they don't like the taste of it on its own.

I once was seeing a Chinese herbalist, where he in turn prescribed me chinese herbs, which I in turn had to make into herbal tea, needless to say that tea was definetly not the flavour of the month, but by gum it certainly made me feel a whole ton better!

"Lightning Bolt, the one and only energy drink crafted by martial arts expert and herbal specialist Steven Seagal, is the only all natural 100% juice energy drink on the market. This long lasting energy elixir is made with key ingredients from all over the globe. With a healthy dosing of Tibetan Goji Berry, Asian Cordyceps, B-Vitamins, Green Tea, Yerba Mate, Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, Guarana, and Policosanols, Lightning Bolt will give you the strength you need ........."

Yes, Orangatuang, that is an excellent point you have made as with regards to pure soft juice
health drinks, as they are an excellent way to get our daily dose of some of the essential
vitamins and minerals, especially for people who are not all that keen on eating either
vegetables, and/or, fruit. Vitamins and minerals that are often destroyed by some of our everyday cooking methods.

I have bought both a smoothie maker, and a juice maker, so that I can make my own
health drinks etc.; also an excellent way to blend flavours, especially if there is one
particular flavour that someone is not keen on. Therefore, whilst carbonated health drinks
could be said to be that first stepping stone into the health world open market, to be truely
up to date on that score is definetly in the form of both pure soft juice drinks and natural
fruit smoothies.

Let's take that even one step further, Steven could also even open up his own string of
health drink bars across the world - now wouldn't that be something! They could even
each have their own in residence chinese herbalist, who could also recommend particular
mixes of drinks according to anyone customer's health, that is for those who wanted that
particular mix according to their own individual medical needs.

I feel that average Chinese herbalist these days charges way too much for the everyday
person on the street, and in turn in many instances they are wondering why they have
a significant shortage of customers. In business if you charge high prices you get
a slow return in terms of actual profit, whereas if you charge low/reasonable prices you
achieve a much quicker return in terms of actual profit. Therefore, if Steven did the above
he would be providing a 'middle way' that would be available to everyone from the very
rich down to the very poor.

I just wish I had his medical skills in both herbs and acupuncture!

Hi Orangatuang,

I have had acupuncture a few times out of sheer desperation, as I was seriously ill, and in my case I did not tell my doctor, mainly because the doctor I had at that time was not helping me.

The qualified Chinese practitioner I saw informed me that Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, when done by a qualified Chinese practitioner is done in a way that it works alongside traditional western medicine as used by our doctors, so in that sense it complements it, as opposed to interfering with it. It would take far too long to explain this in any one post, but that qualified Chinese practitioner also asked me what medications I was being prescribed
by my doctor.

There is no harm you making informal enquiries at a qualified Chinese practitioner's surgery, they also generally have numerous comprehensive leaflets explaining all about Chinese medicine and acupuncture, that you can take away and read at your leisure, before deciding/agreeing to anything. You could even take some of those leaflets on acupuncture to your doctor for him, or her, to read in their own time.

I remember when I used to live in Cleveland, Ohio, in the States, they used to make iced tea over there, which was also the first time I had ever tasted it. I tried it a few times, but did not like it. Probably because I was used to drinking hot tea, but if mine had been flavoured with PIMM’s together with a few chopped up mint leaves I dare say I would have like it too! Lucky you!!

My late mum’s side of the family are Irish, and the Irish are well known for adding a drop, or two, or three, or four ….. of whisky in their hot brews of tea!

STEVEN SEAGAL'S LIGHTNING BOLT

As well as an action movie hero, Aikido black belt and singer/songwriter, Steven Seagal lists "master herbalogist" on his CV.

He has travelled Asia searching for the secrets of good health, he says - and the Lightning Bolt Energy Drink is the result of his quest.

It includes Asian Cordyceps (which boost energy, vitality and longevity, apparently) as well as Tibetan goji berries (a powerful anti-oxidant) and claims to be the first energy drink to be made from 100% natural juice.

"I have travelled the world creating this drink," the Under Siege star says. "There is none better that I know." It comes in three flavours - Asian Experience, Cherry Charge and Root Beer Rush.

"While other energy drinks try to just throw a bunch of cheap caffeine and other drugs into your system," the official website declares, "Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt provides you with the TRUE ENERGY you need."

Clearly, this was the most preposterous thing anyone had ever seen or heard, judging by the number of blogs that spent several days debating whether or not it was all an elaborate hoax.

Well, I'm here to tell you it's for real.........

"The explosive market growth for high-end energy drinks has been jaw- dropping," observed Mitch Gould, Vice President of Steven Seagal Enterprises (SSE).

Lightning Bolt Energy Drink is the result of Seagal's travels in Asia in search of the botanicals believed to keep many locals disease-free for life. Seagal says he discovered the benefits of Asian Cordyceps (one of the most rare and treasured botanicals used in Chinese and Tibetan medicine for thousands of years) while researching immune builders in Asia. It promotes energy, vitality and longevity. Other unique ingredients of the drink include the Tibetan Goji Berry, a powerful anti-oxidant and a cane juice concentrate with a patented process that contains naturally occurring policosanols. Policosanols have been shown in clinical studies to lower cholesterol.

Lightning Bolt is the first energy drink made from 100% natural juice. It is all natural with no sugar added and also contains vitamins B3, B6, B12 and B5. "I have traveled the world creating this drink; there is none better that I know," says Seagal, who frequented Tibet and Japan in the 1960s and 1970s while learning Buddhism, martial arts and herbalogy. "I have included in this drink everything I could to strengthen the body."

"There are thousands of years of anecdotal evidence and more recent scientific and clinical data to support the health benefits of the nutraceuticals in Lightning Bolt," says Gould. "We're focused on bringing the consumer a healthy alternative to what's currently available."

Hi kayy911

Yes, and there is also someone else, whom I have also included in one of my above posts from agonybooth.com, who also appears to have the same views as both Glimmerman and yourself, as it makes interesting reading to get a good contrast of people's views on said Steven Seagal's "Lightning Bolt" drink, as opposed to just those who might be in favour of this particular drink, so cheers for your feedback! :)

Why do liquid herbal medicines taste so bad?

Chinese herbal teas tend to taste very bitter because they are made mostly from roots and bark where the strongest medicinal ingredients are found. The bitter taste may go away after a day or two.
http://www.vitalsource.ca/fqahelp.shtml

Usually any drinks company, who is about to market their product often first tests out samples of their product by getting a number of everyday consumers to try it out first before they put their drinks product on sale to the general public, which can in turn result in that drinks company making accordingly necessary adjustments to their product because of said feedback, especially in the case of negative feedback!

Therefore, it does make you wonder if the company that produces Steven Seagal's "Lightning Bolt" drink has done anything like this before their first take off with this drink on to the open market, especially when you consider that a noteable amount of negative feedback following that said take off of this drink may in turn significantly decrease subsequent sales of this particular product.

If Steven Seagal has gone out of his way to produce this alleged first health drink of its kind, then surely he should have also gone out of his way also to try to make sure that it came in a broad range of flavours., and/or enough of a range to hopefully accommodate most consumers taste buds!

So guys and girls keep those comments coming.......... :)

Actually that has just reminded me of something else, as that same aforementioned qualified Chinese herbalist that prescribed me with medicinal herbs for me in turn to make into daily herbal teas had also included some other herbs to help try to mask some of the unpleasant tastes of those same medicinal herbs! Although, having said that those same daily herbal teas still had a bit of an unusual/unpleasant taste... lol!

Would anyone happen to know any other web stores that sell LB, in any flavour variant? I wanted to try this drink ever since I first heard of it last year, but I kept telling myself, "Eh, I'll do that during my summer 2007 visit in USA".

And now that the summer is close... the drink isn't sold anymore. :\
And those dolts from xoxide.com only ship to USA & Canada. :\
Are there any other stores that have it? (And will actually ship abroad? Or are located outside USA?)
