I'm back first time since 2013!

I just wanted to say hello to all Seagal fans all around the world!

My last post here was from 2013.

Why I was gone? Well, I was a huge Seagal fan 10 years ago (and still are) but I just got bored of watching his DTV stuff. I owned every single Seagal movie til 2010 but after Force of Execution his movies were getting so bad I couldn't watch them anymore. My biggest mistake was that I sold pretty much my whole Seagal collection after that.
Now not so long ago I wanted to watch Attrition because Seagal himself said it was his best film in 20 years. Was it? Well, not exactly but I did enjoy it. Now I have started to collect his movies again so I could say that movie light up my fire again. Of course there's still over 20 of his DTV's that I will never buy (again) because I can't watch those so there's no point to own them.
Anyway I hope Seagal can continue making action films as long as possible and hopefully they are good as well!,
Peace!

Good to see you SenseiSeagal. I've checked the forum occasionally over the years, but I also only just recently started contributing again.

The positive reviews for "Attrition" caught my interest, but I was also interested in some of the political/cultural interviews with Seagal of late on RT, Piers Morgan, Tucker Carlson, etc.

As for the future, I feel that his movie output will start slowing down because he'll focus more on conventions, martial arts seminars, and his diplomatic activities with Russia. However, I do hope there will be at least one more strong film at the level of "Exit Wounds", whether it's an "Above the Law" sequel or something else, but it would have to be produced outside the US. "Expendables 3" isn't the answer.

The run of movies from "Half Past Dead" in 2002 through to "Flight of Fury" in 2007 were disappointing, excluding "Into the Sun". The obvious stunt, physical, and voice doubles just makes them unwatchable. The later DTV movies such as "Born to Raise Hell" and "Maximum Conviction" aren't at the same level as "Urban Justice" or "Pistol Whipped", but they are at least passable as entertainment.

In my opinion, the only avenue for a strong Seagal film at the level of "Exit Wounds" at least is a project outside the US. Forget about "Expendables 3", distribution by Lionsgate, and Hollywood in general. "Attrition" was a turning point that can be easily built upon. There is no reason why an "Above the Law" sequel couldn't be a co-production between Russia and China, or another country. Just keep him away from the Z grade film studios in the US.

Whatever the options are, this needs to happen before he hits his 70s.

How about his movies after Force of Execution? There's 12 movies if not counting Attrition. All awful?

To be honest, I haven't seen all of them. "A Good Man" was watchable, a little more dialog heavy for Seagal if I remember correctly. Some of the other films like "Code of Honour" are almost cameo appearances, but someone else may be able to provide better reviews.
