A book :
"A Beginner's Guide to AIKIDO
by L. Reynosa & J.Billingiere
A pretty simple but complete introduction to all aspects of Aikido, by two of Steven Seagal Sensei's students. I chose this book because of the interview with Seagal Sensei in part 2 of this book. Steven Seagal has been criticized a lot over the years, particularly since he became involved in the movie scene. Frankly, I am impressed with his Aikido. The first few minutes of Seagal's first movie Nico, or Above the Law, where he is teaching in a dojo, is the best Aikido he has ever done on screen, and if it is an accurate representation of his ability, then I think he is pretty amazing. And having known and trained for 2 years with an ex-student of his, a Japanese lady who received her second Dan from Seagal Sensei when he was teaching in Osaka, I have had the chance to learn a few things about him and felt the results of his teaching. Here, in this interview by two of his students, he provides a very clear and reasonable outlook on true, traditional Aikido training. Despite his manner being, how shall I say, fairly outspoken, if not controversial, what he says cuts to the bone. The fact that it may upset some people is their problem, not what he says."
