In 1993 Rorion Gracie created the UFC and his brother Royce Gracie fought in the no rules no gloves tournament, versus all styles. Karate, Kung-Fu, Boxing, Tae Kwon Do etc... and everytime Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu came on top. Every mixed martial arts fighter in the world knows the style because it is so effective. In my opinion if you don't know the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu you will not last in a one on on street fight.
