Out For Justice
Maybe the TBS version is different in Canada Yudansha with different watershed policies and the like. An American friend of mine told me TBS still run the emasculated version which has to be the most censored version of any film I've seen since a horrid version of Scarface I watched years ago. Cuts to the TBS version included even mild violence like Seagal punching a man in the crotch in the pool hall, most of the opening fight (which had different cutting room floor footage of Seagal to mask the language cuts), most of the butcher shop scene which was reduced to almost nothing, every shooting in the film, nearly all of the climax including every shot of Forsythe's bloodied face, the foot being blown off, the pan hits, the bat hits, the wrist-snap, the beatings, the shootings. Every last bit of language in the film was dubbed over with stupid alternatives and Seagal was devoid of all his colourful put-downs. The photo of Bobby pleasuring his girlfriend was changed to cutting-room floor footage of a different, more family-friendly photo each time he held it. Even the dog doesn't pee on the guy's face at the end anymore. The film was completely destroyed. Though we in the UK still have a bad censorship system, I'd say the TV film screenings still suffer less censorship than most in the US. Reservoir Dogs, Crash, The Exorcist, Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Out for Justice and Hard to Kill all play regularly uncut over here.
