Yep - I just posted a thread and then deleted it when I saw suzi beat me to it - of course! You're too fast for me, suzi! But here's what I said:

------

Holy smoke - it's the all Steven Seagal weekend on TBS Superstation (the sliced and diced versions of the movies, alas, but still).

Starting at 7:00 tonight with Out For Justice, followed The Glimmer Man at 9, On Deadly Ground at 11, repeating Out For Justice at 1 a.m.; then on Sunday, Fire Down Below at 9 a.m., The Glimmer Man again at 11 a.m., etc. etc. until Under Seige 2 at 8 p.m. and again at 10 p.m.

Of course, I could pop all five of those movies into my dvd player and play them uncut on continuous loop... but for those who don't have the luxury of a five-dvd dvd player, this'll do....

Luxury of a DVD player? Cut movies?

The DVD players these days don't cost much, and I personally don't see the point of a 5-disc DVD player (it's not like you're playing all 5 at same time). You can get a DVD player for as little as $20 if you know where to look; whereas the prices for VCRs are not dropping anymore, and the cheapest you can get now is for $60-$80. By the way, TBS does not cut Seagal's early 90s movies much if any at all. It's good thing anyways that TBS is playing Seagal movies, but these sort of things happen often on TBS - the "Seagalathon."

LOL you moved the thread on me, and I couldn't post the first time.
I don't know TD, but I saw your thread first.

Dammit!Someone's getting too spoiled over there...Why not me?

awwwww, well, if it makes you feel better, my parents hog the tv, cause they say I am hopeless, obsessed, and I watch him too, often anyway...And my dad really hates the commercials, too...
Actually, I don't watch him THAT often cause the longing gets terrible once I watch him, but I did watch Exit Wounds last night, anyway...:D It's a mixed feeling I have at times, but I am not complaining at all....hehehe...Where did you go from the chat lastnight? I missed you my dear friend, are you ok? :)

There is a baseball game on right now, interrupting "Out For Justice". :(
The only good thing is that I bought "Belly of the Beast" today for a good cheap price, even though I have already seen it a few times.

Well, I guess that's good for your wallet about it being so cheap, but then again, it means that Sensei won't make as much money from it...
I understand you wanting the best deal though, I am very frugal myself...
Well, at least sometimes...
I guess striking a balance is key....
I wish I could help Steven more...
I feel kind of bad that I can't spring for the VHS copy of Out Of Reach....
Seems too impractical to do, since I did switch to DVD....
Right now, it's concentrating on mother's day, and buying myself some new clothes...

But if you get it cheap then someone is selling below the cost?
Said store must really be desperate for sales of their merchandise then...
Oh well, I don't really know...
But I have never seen his movies go cheap in a retail setting, myself...
BOTB and OFAK are still selling for top prices as far as I know....

Sounds like TBS now show a better version, when I saw it on TBS half the film was missing, all the langauge was cut and whole scenes were re-edited as so much violence was cut it didn't make sense anymore. The climax was the worst, it was cut so much you didn't even see William Forsythe's face anymore. Fire Down Below was just as bad and even cut the line "He's gonna slap you like a red-headed step-child!".

Yeah, it was weird about the baseball game. They put on two or three hours of Incredible Police Chases, or whatever that silly show is called, then the baseball game that went on forever. Then they ran The Glimmer Man at 11 p.m. I wish they had put those two extra scenes in the TBS version on the DVD - and did they truncate last fight in the restaurant more than usual? They don't show him taking the guy out behind the bar, ever, on TV, but I think they usually show him getting punched in the gut.

Actually, the only reason I like watching the tv versions is for the interminable commercials - gives me a chance to pack another box!

Exactly a stupid BASEBALL game was shown instead of the Seagal movies.

When I first got my dvds, I played them on my iMac. It gave me a great picture and fairly good sound - but watching movies on the computer where I work all the time (and sitting on a highly uncomfortable chair, since my office chair gave up the ghost) was not exactly an optimum movie-watching experience. My iMac screen is only 15 inches (and I like watching my movies in widescreen, so that made the picture even smaller), and while that forced me to watch the movie up close and personal, it still wasn't very comfortable.

With my dvd player properly attached to my TV (which has a 30" screen), I can sit back all nice and comfy, away from my work space, and chow down on popcorn with my feet up and a nice soft pillow for my back.
