There are plenty of ladies with black belts. I have met many at NASKA tournaments. Sadly though, many ladies do not receive the attention or movie deals that men receive.

I knew a young lady whose nickname was "Mouse" and she left the tournament circuit early because she was offered a movie deal. That was 1997 and I have not seen or heard from her since. If she did make any movies they must have gone straight to video.

Cynthia Rothrock is a black belt and she ended up in China to make "B" rated movies. She could never break through Hollywood to make A-list movies.

Yes, there are plenty of black belt ladies. Many are teaching and passing on the tradition of martial arts to their students. There are several Asian black belt ladies who have been in some good movies, although their names escape me right now. Maybe some of you can name them.

we would be no place without females

As much as I despise Bob Wall, he has a beutiful daughter Shana Wall who (is a model) practices Karate and kickboxing. She has appeared on several commercials (i.e. for beer) and has been on "Walker Texas Ranger" among many other TV shows.

Also, Cynthia Rothrock, who is an accomplished martial artist and worked with directors like Robert Clouse (Bruce Lee's director), Cory Yuen, Samo Hung (Martial Law), and many more. She holds 5 black belts and Tang Soo Do, Tae-Kwan Do, Eagle Claw (White Crane), Wu-Shu (contemporary Kung-Fu), and Northern Shaolin (traditional Kung-Fu). Cynthia had an opportunity to play along Jackie Chan who unfortunately got injured and the part was cancelled. She was also one of the top Kata (form) and weapon competitors in the 80's.

Karen Sheperd is another accomplished female action star with major roles in Hercules, Diagnosis Murder, VIP, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Walker Texas Ranger. Karen studied Shotokan Karate, and currently studies Tai Chi Chuan. She was the first woman to win the Grand Champion title at the prestigious U.S. Open Karate Championship.

Christine Rodrigues appeared in The Next Karate Kid, starred as "Lady Lightning" in Mortal Combat, and stunt doubled Alicia Silverstone in Batman and Robin. She has studied Kenpo and Wu-Shu, and was a Triple Crown winner (3 gold medals) of WAKO World Championships in England in the early 90's (twice: in '91 AND in '93!).

Kathy Long appeared on Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show after her appearence on Walker Texas Ranger. She holds a black belt ranks in Aikido, Kung-Fu, Karate, and studies Jujitsu.

nobody seems to have mentioned the daughter of The Dragon- Shannon Lee.

I remember reading that her father taught her Jeet Kun Do, just like with Brandon. She's got some good moves on her if you see her in action.
