Chi (yes Its Real)

Okay that did it someone started a fire yesterdy I was watching a show about the idea that if we believe in something it would work for us power of the mind but it wasnt really real (CHI) could not be proven..(skeptic)

Oh really ?as a martial artist almost a black belt in TKD with a 9th Dan master I guarentee pain caused by hitting a chi(accupuncture) point is far worse than merely a bruised arm. whats the difference Chi points are accupressure and accupuncture and just because someone doest understand it doesnt mean its not real, indeed it IS. I think the show was iresponsible to let some uneducated nut ramble how he knew it could not exist beacuse..he wasnt very convincing. I know it does exist how? I have serious proof, I had a rare accident in my class a kid pulled me forward and didnt tell me she was going to (lapel pull) my leg bolted forward if wasnt heavy it would have broken at the knee Dr. statement it gave luckily and thats the worst pain I ever felt why? pinched nerve chi point it happened in less than a sec and lasted 8 weeks to heal he (Dr ) said a non chi point would have healed in 1-2 weeks

apparently the "expert" never experienced my pain remember not so long ago tim was not considered a factor cause you couldnt see it. itsthe only hing that makes an egg hatch so it is something..chi is invisible too but its there statements anyone...and Steven says it is real. appparently hes felt its wrath a time or two also.

Thanks, SAS GA...

I think you are so interesting...

You guard him good now, ok?

Because I love him so much! :)

Thanks

Lotussan:

Thank You I just wanted you all to know the truth this guy couldnt have known, because he had too much opinion and not enough experience so true in many cases. and it was said people who massaged chi points were more energized and lost more weight than people who exercised alone (Hmmm a thought) certian areas called lymphs cleanse the areas of blood and flush them whereas reg exercise is just that no fat removal.

So doing chinese exercised( any exercise reg plus massaging self breaks up fat in areas and they get flushed test people lost 5 lbs more than non chi test (hmm again didnt see that on his show)when we massage sdelf like arms etc it stirs circulation and chi cleans it no cir leads to health prob how come we have far more problems with obesity and heart than Asians, diet and exercise..simpe as that..hey theyre gonna do away with Supersize at McD's its a start..no one but no one needs that much fat in their diet.

SAS GA- thanks for sharing your words with us. I am a firm believer in Chi. Of course it is real. We studied Hapkido extensively in TKD black belt classes, which works with the Chi centers and meridians. Having years of experience with massage therapy, including meridian/accupressure points, reflexology, cranial-sacral, and polarity, it still amazes me how the human body works and responds to various stimuli. While time-keeping at a TKD tournament I witnessed a kick to the area right below the cheek bone - the guy was out cold before he even began falling. The western doctors were called over and couldn't get much response from him. One of the Korean Masters came over and asked what had happened and just nodded and proceeded to stimulate several points on the guy's head and neck and back. He came around immediately, and was up and moving within a minute. Amazing ... and a good lesson in the workings of the human body.

There is so much to learn when we listen to some of the ancients.

hi there... i´m new to this, but i wanted to say something about this...

have you ever heard about reiki? i guess that is the true meaning of chi...isn´t healing much more important than hurting? working with a reiki master has tought me a lot about human life... not only the body, but also the mind. and that´s the important thing: it´s all one!
you are right hallarian: there´s still a lot to learn from the ancients...

Welcome to the site!!

Is it true that in order to perform chi in a self defense you have to be entirely focused and mind and body in one?

Does this play any role in self defense in a street situation?

hi there...
thank you for the warm welcome...
well i just wrote a long reply but then my computer broke down and now i have to start again... so i´ll keep it short this time...

@littledragon869:
reiki is just a way of healing through energy. (the energy in and around us) . even if someone actually wanted to use it against someone else (even in a self defense situation) it just wouldn´t work. it´s just and only positive energy. but it helps in so far that it can make you more self cofident. and people only attack others if they think they can "win". so if you are very confident about yourself and if you are very calm, you will less likely get into such a situation. the best self defense is still just not getting into a fight.
about body and mind: a good martial arts teacher will always focus on the mind as much as on the body. the best technique is worth nothing without a strong mind and a heart like a lion won´t help you if you´re not physically fit. it´s like ying and yang (good and bad/ light and shadow/ body and mind): one cannot exist without the other.
and i also have to admit: i do believe that some form of chi can also be used in martial arts ( blocking the energy of a person by hitting certain spots). so if someone is focused and free in mind, that person can use it in many ways. (like sas guardian angel said: you "just" have to deeply believe in it and feel it)
but that´s just my poor opinion.

@kat_wit:
this sounds like you are not feeling well...
anything i can do for you?

@amos stevens:
thank you for the link! i´m looking forward to having a look at it!

Yes....it's real...otherwise we wouldn't be walking/talking...

Hello Joyful and Welcome!!!

I'd like to say that reiki does work (at a certain level).
However we must look into the original practice where "reiki" was extracted from. The generation of heat practiced by Tibetans was aimed at something totally different. The purpose of it was to attain Liberation/Enlightenment. Healing and other attainments were only the result of this practice...not the aim.

Thats why I asked because I knew the answer to it, you won't have time to gather chi in a street fight situation, if you have ever been in a street fight your mind is never completly free and clear. ;)

i just had a look at the reiki site... it´s really a good one (and there aren´t too many good ones about reiki) it explains pretty well what i was trying to say... but i guess my vocabulary isn´t good enough for explaining such a complex topic...:)
thanks amos stevens... and yeah: i do believe you that you didn´t have anything to do with my computer breaking down...lol

littledragon: that´s what i mean: it doesn´t help too much in that situation. it just helps not getting into it.
