Hey guys,
Even though THE ACTION KINGS has closed forever, I've kept in touch with Morgan, the guy who runs the site, and he told me that CLEMENTINE: SPECIAL EDITION will be released on DVD and video on December 14th, 2004. Sweet! That's two months away!!! Can't wait for this one :)

That's great, Bobby! :) Thanks a lot for letting us know. Do you know if that will be for sale in the U.S.? Please keep us informed if your friend has any more information, won't you? We appreciate that. :)

As far as I know, he said it would be a special edition, and that release date is the American one, so Amazon.com should have it up for pre-ordering in the next few weeks or so

I'v just been in contact with my local dvd dealer...... They would try and get the ordennary release from Korea. So I'm getting that instead. I hope Seagal has alot of screentime in so it will be worth seeing.

SEAGAL's screentime is about 7 minutes. And that's right at the end. Unless you're a real die-hard fan, beware, this is not a STEVEN SEAGAL movie.

He is actually in it more than once if you pay attention, however it's just a glimpse, it's not for long...
The fights are not at the very very end either, so he's in it about 3 times technically, total time is very brief, though...
The ponytail however is long, and he was awesome, soooooooo incredible, so impressive...
I really loved it, but wished he was in it longer...
Komapsumnida Seagal Sensei, you are soooo wonderful and talented and amazing and I will adore you forever and ever!

I have paid attention, but the scenes you are talking about are 'blink and you'll miss them'
I think you're giving people the wrong impression of this movie.
At the begining, you see SEAGAL (for about 5 seconds) mid-way through the movie, you see SEAGAL fighting (for about another 5 seconds) on tv. He appears at the end for the final fight and the scene at the hospital
You are being too picky, over (extremely) minor details. If you consider these two extremely quick snippets as SEAGAL scenes, some people might assume that SEAGAL has an active role in the movie throughout (when we all know he doesn't!)
Plus the fact that the final 'fight scene, features a heavily doubled SEAGAL and is all-too brief anyhow, is irrelevent.

Tonight i'm going to post the exact screen time SEAGAL has with running time(s)

I don't think the shot of him at the start was even five seconds Lee, it really was 'blink and you'll miss it'. Looks like you and I are still the only ones to have posted a review of it over at IMDB.

I liked the movie, but i think some of his more, straightforward 'action' fans might assume he's a key player in the movie (deceptive artwork doesn't help)
I reckon a few people might feel let down when they see this movie (expecting a SEAGAL snap-em-up)

On a sidenote, steve i've READ some of your IMDB comments/reviews, and they share a similar taste with my favoured genre of movies (MEAN GUNS, SAVAGE STREETS, STRIKING DISTANCE, etc) it must be a 'Boro' thing. I intend to get all SEAGAL films reviewed on IMDB, it's just a case of finding time (i've just reviewed THE FOREIGNER)

I feel the same way about Clementine Lee don't worry, his brief role isn't too bad but watching it expecting a Seagal knuckle-fest is only going to lead to disappointment. I have to confess I finally gave in around 90 minutes into it and decided to fast forward to Seagal's role only to find that by that time it was only 30 seconds off anyway.

Nice to see we share similar tastes in films, I'm an action and horror junkie mostly and have amassed a stupidly big collection over the years. If it's got Seagal, Van Damme, Arnie, Sly, Rutger Hauer, Dolph or any of the others in it usually gets my vote on the action front. I loved Bad Boys 2 when I saw it recently but strangely can't stand The Matrix, strange as it's one of the biggest action films of recent times. I don't mind Jet Li but get pissed off by all the wire-work in his films. I love horror films too, from Jason and co right through to the Cannibal Holocaust-esque stomach-churners. Explotation like Savage Streets always gets my vote too, eerily I actually watched that very film today.

True, there were a few blinks, but still gold to me, oh well...Give us the exact times, and sorry to lead anyone on, it definately leaves you yearning for more, and even though there is doubling, the fight scenes are quite impressive and he was great his charisma alone is enough, just the screen prescence I mean, it was extraordinary for me...

No harm no foul Lotussan, it wasn't too bad a film and to be honest if there was any doubling my eyes weren't sharp enough to catch any of it. The long shots of the fight may well have been doubled but at least it wasn't obvious as in Out of Reach. Sure it wasn't a Seagal-a-thon but being a Seagal nut I had to hunt it down anyway. Hell, I even bought My Giant.

.........I also bought MY GIANT as well (although i hate those cardboard covers)

I'm not that keen on WILL SMITH, but i agree with you on THE MATRIX (thankfuly, that 'franchise' looks dead now anyway) but i'm a big 'gore' nut. Have you seen the new MEDIA BLASTERS 2 disc ZOMBI 2 set?
I like a lot of 70's/80's exploitation (and i'm trying to write a guide/book on them) if you ever want to trade/borrow any 'rare' stuff, let me know?

Hi Lee,

I (fortunately or unfortunately whichever way you look at it) didn't buy the disc of My Giant, it was more a second-hand video shop job really as I knew his appearance was little more than a cameo. I'm not a Will Smith fan either but if you haven't seen Bad Boys 2 do check it out, it's a lot like the old 80's action moviesand is full of car chases and seriously violent action.

I haven't seen the Media Blasters version of Zombie - does it have any decent extras? It's nice to discover another gore fanatic so close to home, I'd love to trade some movies sometime, fingers crossed you'll have some I haven't yet discovered!

Good luck with the book, I've been trying to cobble one together myself, it's not on exploitation though so don't worry about te competition. I'm trying to keep the subject of it under wraps until it's done so no-one pillages it.

Nice to find another Matrix-loather too, I was starting to fear I was a rare breed. I think it's the stupid non-realism of the fights that gets to me most. I know that's kind of the 'point' but I prefer to see real martial artists on screen doing their stuff, not bloody Ted Theodore Logan. I saw a best fighter poll on the internet somewhere where Keanu Reeves was seriously considered alongside Seagal, Bruce Lee and all the others. What's the world coming to really?
