Environmental insight

Just want to let you all know if you're interested in environmental insight - as Steven is - there's a very good clip about the science and politics of Global Climate Change included in the DVD for the film The Day After Tomorrow. The clip is on the second of the set. There are many scientists and also pro-environment politicians as well as the head of Greenpeace (remember On Deadly Ground?). It is worth checking out. I think Steven would encourage us to look into the clip also - it brings to light similar thinking mentioned in the monolog at the end of On Deadly Ground; as does his plea for funds for the National Wildlife Federation.
Peace

Thanks for that info, Kickingbird! :) I rented the DVD, but there was only one, not two in a set. I'll look for it at another video store next time I'm at one and see if they have it available. I would definitely enjoying seeing that clip you mentioned! Thanks again. :)

That link worked, Suzi!! What a great page! :) Perfect picture to have there, with that quote by Steven underneath. I really liked that background pattern changing with the lights--subtle, not too flashy. And I liked the music you had playing.

You really do have such a professional-looking site, Suzi! :)
I think yours should be the Official one now. ;)
We'll keep this one the Unofficial. :D

Thank you, i like the trailer very much. If one of us could make a think to not destroy the world, maybe we could have a better world in future.
Let´s try it.

Awesome Suzi :)
The DVD set is the 2-disc "All-Access Collector's Edition" available from Amazon. The clip is "The Force of Destiny: The Science and Politics of Climate Change" documentary. BTW, the clip mentions Senator John McCain and Senator Lieberman sponsoring a bill to help cut greenhouse gas emissions - the news this week is that it failed to pass.

Thanks Suzy for the that new web site.

Just left the orient and people are suffering floods everywhere. Southern Europe has record lethal temperatures and Alaska's weather is really crazy. This part of Alaska never had thunder and lightening and now it happens every day.

The interior of Alaska had lightening before but it's increased tremendously causing many new forest fires.

We need to do something. Ignoring the problem to protect the profiteers means we'll be in worse trouble later.

Wow, that's weird, I just bought one from them!
Type in a search under DVD for: The Day After Tomorrow. It should go right to it. The 2-disc set is the 3rd one down on the lists (#3). I just checked it and it IS there.

Meanwhile, yes, the global climate is changing. Plans need to be made. Let's all hope enough can be done to prepare for the worst. Drought, or too much rain, climate changes that affect crop growth and pollunation, etc., are all "side-effects" of global climate change. I believe it has gone beyond an effort to control greenhouse gas emissions - it is now at a stage where we need to actually make plans for worldwide water shortages, food shortages, energy shortages, etc. Let's hope things can be done and done soon.
Peace
