There are many people here interested on PBT (I'm one) maybe we should work together, try to get it, and have some copies for other members, I remember J. Lucas had the streaming video of the entire PBT, doesn't he have the PBT on video ??? We could ask him if he can make copies, VCD, VHS, DVD, for us here to buy from him or other member that has... come on, let's cooperate with each other !!! PBT is great video and a must have for all Seagal fan !!!

Suzi, we must find some member, that could make one copy on dvd or vcd, or vhs, and send to one, than, this one, send to another, and like this, many will have the copy !!! Of course I'd prefer to buy it from a store, but, it's very rare.... so, the only way is do this system, or wait it come out on a store...

Yeah.....I did have it all on streaming video which anyone could download....was part of my learnig how to make streaming vid's....
someone in Poland kept asking me about it.....so I finally figured I 'd experiment on something and that seemed like a good idea...it's only 50mts and I what I did and found the best way was to make each of the 12 chapters into it's own vid...so they varied...some were 2 mts....some 6...etc....I was unhappy witht he quality and I needed web storage space to upload them too.....really...if I had the starage area I'd put every up in high resolution...many people missed the E'Hollywood bio on Seagal yoo...that was another of my learning exp...that ran a good 45-50mts also....I once saw somebody selling it on E-Bay...the E hollywood/Path Beyond on one tape....but like me he probably got banned for selling copywrited material...I used to sell all those things on e-bay till they booted me...the Seagal and Band playing was real popular as was the last indepth interview Seagal did on Larry King.......CNS even sold the trans-scripts of the show....if you watch all 4 hours of that in an evening it'd probably give ya' Seagal nightmares..lol
I'm sure the DVD Connie refered to is just a tape to DVD..which anybody can do if they have a video machine and a DVD recorder...
I have the tape machines but the best I could actually do is tape intp the PC to make CD version.....which means that a stan alone DVD player would have to have VCD/SVCD playability...or you'd need to watch it on a PC with a CD-ROM...
it's the file size that's the problem...one minute in regular MPEG quality is approx 10MB......so even a 50 mt show would be something around for 500MB for someone to upload and to download....but it would easily be full screen watchable ..problem is I myself have no such on-line space.....that's why I'm always pulling ones off so I can put newer ones up..now streaming videos...a 50mt show would be about maybe 20MB...which is very practical but we all know the quality of streaming video....it can very a bit by what bit rate one makes the streaming vid's...
Heck I thought everybody had Path Beyond Thought
I posted on the offcial board early last year about trading copies....that's how I got mine.....
Oh yeah.....now that I'm thinking of PBT..I know the ending montage used to be on-line..PBT ends with 5mts of various footage of Seagal throwing peoplearound..the footage evn has the 8mm B/W film ..taken way back in the early 80's...and it's backed with music...that may still be around on-line and it was of pretty decent quality.....about 50MBs ..for the 5mt segment..

I just checked this guys site...I thought he was the one that had it...but it's not there...tho I see he did add about 8 more high quality videos...all the way up to The Foreignor

OK....I forgot about this .....it's been awhile...but once someone on here wanted Seagal music and since I had all MP3's and no place to upload them...I used to let her connect with my PC directly....then she could look into my directory and download whatever she wanted.....
so it is a possible for ex: I convert PBT into high resolution chapters right...then using any file sharing program..I just leave my PC on at a time we would work out...say I just leave it on all night and anyone using a file sharing program(they have to be the same progarm because they use the same network..I use Winmx)..so all I would have to do is set mine end up so the PBT directory is open....you find me from your end..then download whatever you wanted(well..what i allowed)
I've done it before....I would make the file names some so that others would never search for ....but you would...so you'd find me quite easily...then once I know were hooked..then you just grab what you want..problem is I only have a 56k modem so the fastest I could send would be in that range.....it works great for couple MB MP3's...a large download or maybe grab a chapter a day...and if only one person at a time connects you'd get the fastest connection....I've never done it with a 50mt movie.....but broken into chapters would be easier...I'd just leave the PC on all night and let the transfer go...that's how I have to do movies...and movies are usually broken into 2 parts....mainly so people can burn the file to a CD and then watch them on a TV set...if you can do that....then it's not going to matter if it's NTSC,PAL or SECAM...because once you have the file(s) on your system.....you just do whatever you want...you can watch them on your PC,burn them to a CD..or a DVD if you a those kind of PC drives...it's just like when I download a bunch of somgs I'll burn them to a CD....it'd be somwhat time consuming on your end ...but it's a possibility..Suzi you still have Winmx right?.....remember how you did HPD?
be the same thing except it would be PBT

John - that streaming idea is pretty cool, man. What are your thoughts on Path Beyond Thought anyway? I've only watched it once since I got my copy (from a very kind member of the old SS.com board who bought two original copies and then sent one to me!). It is good, but I was kinda disappointed that there was no interview footage with Seagal. I don't think it is available as an official DVD, so like John said, Connie's version must be a VHS to DVD copy. I have threatening to hook up two VCRs (or even a VCR to a DVD) for a while now - maybe if demand grows enough I might start cranking out copies of The Path Beyond Thought and distributing them across the world free of charge!

Hey guys! I have a VHS copy of PBT and I have considered getting a DVD copy made from it. I did price it about a year ago and I believe it was somewhere around 45 U.S. dollars. If you guys are interested, I will check into again and let you guys know. I would be more than happy to get some copies cranked out.

In Aiki,

Carlos

Hey Glimmer....been awhile......
Streaming is good to get an idea of something such as trailers, etc(I'm kinda surprised that ss.com didn't have a couple mt streamer of PBT to promote sales...$35 + shipping is on the extreme for a 50mt video...
since PBT came up yesterday I did some looking around last night and the PBT (315mb) on Winmx...that size indicates to me that it has to be the compleet 50mts..........and also I saw the 33mb Seagal-Aikiko by Steamroller on Kazza...this I belive is that ending montage that was floating around....both Kazza & Winmx are free P2P file sharing programs...saw OFAK also for that matter.......so it is possible to download PBT...from the size indicated it has to be a decent quality.
My thoughts???
well for me it may be a bit different.....years ago I saw a seminar pic..and noticed that in the background there was a student with a cam-corder.....so I wrote TenShin(when it still existed) about obtaining some of the sem footage...they did indeed admit that every sem was videotaped for 'learning purposes'......these tapese are/were availble to any student to take home and view.....they never were meant for the public...and there was no-way they were going to release any of it to anyone...tho I was invited to come to Cal and view the tapes..anyway so for me.....just getting my hands on some of this "rare" footage is worth it....let alone the 8mm B/W film from pre-ATL..taken in Japan of Seagal teaching in (his then) dojo...when TenShin(that the tapes belonged to) was disolved(I think this was when Matsuoka went back to Japan)..the video became available....they also told me(students still studied there under the new dojo..prior to Matsuoka's return) that Seagal himself was not pleased that they compiled this footage and released it....which could be a good indication as to why a brief interview was not included...some of the question & answer sesssions from these sem. were released thru the TenShin newsletters...and I also see that some had been released in the Martial Arts Legends(Seagal Issue #2)
I suppose it depends on one's point of view....to see Seagal teaching in raw unrehearsed footage is great...I mean you really get a feel that Seagal is the 'real deal'
I was happy as sh*t to trade for a copy..commercially-wise..it was kind of a bomb.....I've seen a few forums with people complaining about never receiving it after paying for it....or it taking 6 months or more to arrive....it never was available on anything but NTSC...which in my eyes sure didn't help sales...a DVD version really would have been a good idea for them....
When I asked why put up ss.com now after all these years..the Warner contract was now up, FDB had been out for nearly 3 years...why put up a web-site now...and I was told that the main purpose was it was supposed to be a marketing platform(mainly for PBT) and other products....taking advantage of the then upcoming Exit Wounds.
anyway.....all in all....if you can get your hands on one or even a copy....I'd say grab it(to me it's more or less a Seagal cult item)....last one on e-bay(auction site) I saw easily went for more than $100.
John
PS:most of the above info was e-mailed to me by students I was in touch with at the time..I myself can not validate any of it.

The yahoo store on the SS site still seems to be working,
I wonder if I should try ordering a copy from there?
Do you all think I would get it?
If not I could demand my money back, and demand to talk
to Steven Seagal himself, just to find out where the heck it
is and all...;)
Either way I might come out good, you think? :D
But seriously, did any of you get yours this way?

I can tell you for a fact that none of the videos I ever made for on-line purpose are MPEG...way too large and they don't strem...you have to completey download them to your PC before viewing them...
Make sure you settings allow Real Player to play MPEG.
once you have a MPEG on your computer...clicking on the file itself should open the appropriate player to begin viewing it.
John
PS: you aren't disturbing me..lol
