What races have to be run
and hurdles jumped
for the finish line to be reached,
In order to escape our abuser
and his emprisonment walls to be breached?
Will his raging river
ever become a quiet stream?
From him provoking me to pang filled labor for freedom,
What from this lesson, can I glean?
Is it to become an even Better Mother
that protects her Children with all her heart;
Or to forever change the pages of history
within the legal system
for our new start?
Many women and children
suffer at the hands of an abusive mans wrath, indeed;
But at what cost will the legal system continue
to sacrifice their freedom,
That is yet to be seen?
Is there something we can do
to make them really See,
The Truth of every issue
of just how decietfully abusive
these men can really be?
No One Knows what happens
Behind closed doors at home,
How women and children suffer
and are made to feel alone!
And when they get the courage
to finally flee abuse,
The abuser attacks and fights and lies
and makes it "look like" a custody dispute.
What a "Smoke Screen" he burns up
within the court room with his lies,
When will they ever see that it is True Justice
that the abuser defies....?
As he defies the justice system
the court room lets him be,
the abuser to his children
and his wife that they can not seem to see.
It's obvious that we need some changes
to our legal system today,
So it does not continue to breed destruction
into the lives of the innocent in dismay.
Why are they so blind
turning a deaf ear to the victims crys
for help and justice to prevail?
Will women and children continue to suffer
just because their abuser is a
manipulative and lieing "Male"?
The time is now
Before it is too late,
To change the laws
and not allow the abuser to escape;
Before any more lives are lost
Because the Abuser Got Away!
