Imagine...

IMAGINE
John Lennon

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
No religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Here, I met many people, from many countries, USA, Turkey, Estonia, Germany, England, and others, I noticed that, we are all humans, we are alike, so, why not teach this to our children, our future generation.... So they will learn that, war is not good for anything, this world needs more love, more understanding, less violence, greed.... That's the only way Human Race has to continue being, otherwise, Human Race will be history....
I don't want that to my grandchildren, children, I want to show them what love is, LOVE - such a wonderful thing, but I guess that some of Humans don't know what it is.:(
It's just a shame, because I'm at a point that, I don't want to have children, I don't want them to suffer with all the bad and violence our world has witnessed, can you imagine to what point I got ???

I understand how you're feeling. Nobody likes war. But sometimes you can't have love, understanding and less violence without a 'war'. Imagine what those Iraqi people have had to live with. What a monster Saddam is. I think that for them to have a better life; for them not to have to live in fear and pain... poverty; makes everything worth it.

I want to believe with all my heart that this world is good for something. I am proud to live in a world where somebody will come and fight for my human rights to live in peace. Wouldn't it be worth everything to see a tyrannical dictator like Saddam fall to his knees and free the people of Iraq?

I know that people die in a war. I know that people get hurt. But isn't all for a greater good? Saddam is the bad guy. Isn't the bad guy supposed to lose?

Here, Here, Manloaf!
I dont think that people like Hitler and Saddam really care about the words in a John Lennon song-they have their own agenda and it has nothing to do with peace. War is horrible but sometimes absolutely necessary. 95 percent of the world could live by the words in that song but its the 5 percent that dont that really cause all the problems..

Thanks Rodrigo for posting that song..in my History group we have been posting songs from throughout history in honor of the military.
I was not for this war, but it now has to be supported to try to save as many lives as possible & to bring everyone home!

Good words ... "Imagine" ... :)

War is hell ... no doubt about it. This particular war is curious, though, because there is so much sentiment against it; not only from peace-lovers but from many in the middle east. So much of the "news" of why the war is taking place is slanted and feeds on the separations between the middle east and western cultures and beliefs. Some (and notice I said "some") feel it is an afront against Islam, which isn't true - we all know it is to rid the world of Saddam Hussain. It must be difficult to sort out the real reasons when so many of the Iraqi people have been fed pure propaganda for so long. The young people there have never known anything but the tyrant - they have no idea whatsoever of "life without Saddam". Methinks perhaps the men behind the war have not thought out to the fullest the consequences and collateral damage to the entire world. It seems to have set in motion so many other factors and problems. Who knows where it will end?

It seems now that this will escalate into a "battle between the Light and the darkness". Perhaps it is the ignorance and separatness within peoples' hearts that needs to be addressed. It that aspect is clear there would be no more wars.

Just imagine ...

In Oneness and Peace
