I had a print of the fourth picture (of Mama san's attachments) over my bed as a child. Used to terrify me, I'm not quite sure why.

TD,
I guess it's most likely because this picture
denote a time just before the Crucifixtion.
He knew what He faced, within the next few days!
God bless,

I remember discussing this in my adult confirmation class. I had a feeling the priest was skirting around some thin dogmatic ice in some of the discussions, as we talked about Judas and his role.

Hmmm....

I've got Zefferelli's Jesus of Nazareth on tape. I notice they never run that mini-series on TV any more (though they always drag out CB DeMille's 10 Commandments). It was very well done, if I recall correctly (and had a Milky Way of superstar actors in it that were exactly right for every role they had). Now I'm thinking this would be something to watch this weekend (no, I haven't seen The Passion of the Christ and I don't want to, thanks).

I stopped going to church when my stepmother died because of the routine I set up with calling my father on Sundays - he doesn't want me calling him later than a certain time because it interrupts his housework schedule, so church on Sunday is pretty much out of the question. So, until my father dies, no church for me. I have all the mass books at home, though, so I just have to figure out what cycle this year is, and I can read the mass on my own.

"...CB DeMille's The 10 Commandments....."

I saw a sign the other day that said....
God gave us the 10 Commandments
not 10 suggestions...!
Struck me as rather funny when a lot of people
do treat them like suggestions!!
God bless,
Mama san

I've seen George Carlin's routine (on YouTube) about how the Ten Commandments can be condensed into just one.

It's very funny, though I imagine it would annoy a lot of people...

Sadly, he's so hard to watch now, as he's declined a lot, from age, booze and drugs - he's actually having a lot of trouble with his rapid-fire delivery (it's more like single shots, now) and he actually stumbles over and even forgets lines.

I have the movie, "The Passion of Christ." That movie is VERY graphic. When reading the bible though it says that you couldn't recognize him. I read that in making the movie they couldn't be as graphic as what the scriptures said Jesus endured. Some parts are harder to watch than others. Just think...He went through that for everyone.
