Just wondering if you want to keep the off-topic section as it is, or do you want me to make a few new sub-sections?

Such as:
Movies
Jokes
etc
etc?

Please vote and also state which forum sections you would like to see.

I voted Yes...How about a help section, for any kind of general help or advice questions? Everyone could use advice from a friend now and then...:) And a jokes section would be nice...Mr. Rooster, where are you? :D Current events, perhaps? Maybe that would just fall under the news topic, I dunno...Anyway, hope that helps, thanks for the nice board, Craig...:)

Well we sort of have specific topics for jokes already-sometimes I think too many topics kind of scares people away,so I would kind of go with leaving it alone.

I agree with Amos .....I myself believe in simplicity when possible.........people in general don't like complicated things...the more sub-topics,etc........the harder it's going to be to find what one's looking for..........over complicating a site can actually kill it......and I also agree with Lotus that a general help, tech help or whatever may be a good idea....I did that at the old place because there seemed to be a need for it.....not just this site releated .....but just a thread where anybody can ask anything about internet,pc's, programs, software problems,etc......EX: how do I stop these 16 programs from running every time I start up my PC?..lol
anyway I think part of the message board concept besides Steven Seagal should be to help one another when possible....no question is stupid....we've all been there and still are there at times(like me).....and with 300+ members from all over the planet.........an answer to just about anything should be found...
John
PS: I wanted to know what program or process Craig uses to capture video footage from DVD.......I xcan do the image capture...but not familiar with capturing video clips or even capturing trailers from a DVD in the PC.

I simply connect up my stand alone DVD to my Win TV USB capture card via the s-video. You also connect the sound card to the Win TV device too.

I then use Windows Movie Maker which is standard with Windows XP to capture the video clips. The quality is extremely good uncompressed!

I will probably add a help sub-forum then..

Craig,
I think I'll have to go with Amos and John!
Too many sub-topics might become a problem.
Besides, I think what we have now pretty well
covers just about anything we might wish to
talk about.
God bless,

Oh Ok...that's basically how I do video tapes.......except I'll run the VCR into a USB II port......then use any video capture program.....I thought you were using some kind of program to capture directly from putting the DVD into the CD-ROM.....that's what I can't figure out.....none of the capture programs I have cover such a method......but it does work fine for image capture......I use a modified WIN-DVD program to play DVD's thru the PC....and it has a "P" for image capture built in.....but video capture is a different thing....I could do the stand alone thing too....but I get tired of connecting & dis-connecting the setup...lol
The DVD's work great for audio capture also........recording Love Doctor was just a matter of playing the DVD and running any one of the audio recorders I have...

I agree about the sub sections, I don't think we need them.
a HELP section would be great though, especially for bozo's like me!

just a thought, I dunno if it is possible, but how about a photo section of MEMBERS (no Glimmer, I mean board members, people!)
Perhaps only accessible to those who have been members for like 3 mths or something. Just a thought, be nice to see some faces round here!

and Craig, absolute magic job on the site!!!

cheers
Rob

Hahaha...

Check this site out, man. It's pretty cool actually. It enables you to take a photo of yourself with your monitor by using light refractive technology or some sh*t.
