Movie roles for Steven

I think Steven needs some kind of reinvention if he wants to get back to theatrical releases. There are two solutions in my mind:

1. Comedy

2. Bad guy roles

Comedy is always appreciated by mainstream audiences, and Seagal does have a knack for it e.g. the table/chair scenes in Exit Wounds, or his conversation with Wayans in Glimmer Man. I think Seagal needs to find a movie where he can really make fun of himself, not take himself too seriously. Maybe something like the DeNiro role in Meet the Parents or Analyze This.

Bad guy roles are something that I think Seagal would kick so much ass in. Let's face it, the guy is intimidating as HELL. He knows how to throw punks around. so maybe it's time to switch to throwing good guys around. I know I'd pay to see him play a bigtime mafia boss or something along those lines. But I don't know how willing he would be to do these kinds of roles...

What do you guys reckon?

I think he can do all of the above and be good...:) His tough exterior (Good for the bad boy) The demure sensitive? Interior...;) good for a little romance, and he was quirky and funny in Glimmer man in my opinion...Why not? A movie with Jackie chan would be funny...:D

I'd like to see him in a family comedy, where he stands as a real role model to his "screen " family, you know, never fighting, walks away from trouble, or will never fight in front of his kids, always doing the right thing, and at the end have him display all his martial skills while the "screen" family looks on in amazement, having never seen "daddy" display this before.

In between the start and the end....anyones guess!!;) Just as long as there are lot's of laughs in there.

I think he would be great in that sort of role.

Actually, if memory serves, an interviewer, at his home just outside LA, ask him if he would consider doing a romantic role!
He said at the time, that they might be able to arrange that!
"It's a possibilty. We'll just have to wait and see"!! He didn't say he "wanted" to do a romantic role!
As for your comment, he may not "do" anything for you but for the ladies on this board, he does plenty!! Hehehe!!! Grandma C.

I once read years ago in a Black Belt magazine interview that he never wanted to play a bad guy.

Too bad, because I think that is where he can be real marketable.

I think he would make a great bad guy. And actors always say that bad guy roles are much better fun to play.
