New information about Into the Sun

Sydney, not that I'm questioning your bona fides or anything, but "Into the Sun" is NOT a remake of Mitchum's Yakuza - far from it. It's what we were hoping for, in the beginning, but it isn't. It's an original work by Seagal and some other guy, nothing whatever to do with Mitchum's Yakuza - a great pity, in my opinion.

Yeah, I know that and I didn't mention anything about remake. I'm just saying what I have experienced in films. Even though, the plot sounds familiar to Sydney Pollack's version except for the story which is about a governement agent being killed and Seagal is brought in to catch the person who killed the agent. In Sydney Pollack's version... the concept sounds very similar to this one but different situation though, that I don't remember because this film didn't have any closed captions, which is written by Seagal for Into the Sun. Again, as what I am thinking of...is that Into the Sun is going to have some kind of similar elements as Sydney Pollack because of Japanese Culture which involves mafia known as The Yakuza. That's the only thing that this film is somehow similar to Pollack's version. That's what I think.

Why a pity?If you don't mind I'll train my rolling eyes exercise  Now I'm sort of waking up-why can't Seagal be original?Well, the other point you may say it may not be that original at all but first of all we should see and then we decide if it is or it's not.Well, now I have to slow my eyes back down.;) :D

Yeah this is true and also as what I posted earlier after what TDwoj said, I don't know why, all of sudden metioned about remake. Everything what I said is not about a remake, it's many things what I have experienced on viewing several films and again for Into the Sun, it's storyline sounds familiar which is not so original but Seagal can do his own version which is a good thing. I think Seagal's version of The Yakuza which was an original script title will be better than Sydney Pollack's version only on creating several action sequences from Seagal.

Yeah, being at the breaking point ain't that bad at all :D

Yep. I also personally wrote 8 free-write stories that I want to turn those stories into screenplays someday when I become a filmmaker. Seagal is the one who inspired me to do movies. I began writing stories back in 1999 while Seagal was on break.

Yes you are right TD, Seagal has co written Into The Sun so it is his own original ideas and not a remake.

I guess we'll just see what we'll see.

Sounds familular? :D

Yeah, I have a good gut feeling about this. I can tell this film will have some kind of Japanese culture in it basically Seagal wrote the screenplay which is a good thing because he experienced travelling through Japan when he was younger. In Sydney Pollack's version, it showed some Japanese culture in it so I didn't say anything about remake. I don't know why TD mention a thing about remake.

Well, it should be but I doubt it though. Because I don't see many works from Mink. I think Under Siege 3 will be his a GREAT comeback because if he gets it made then I know several of people will end up going see it especially the same screenwriter from the original is writing third one. It should be a hit only if they pick a good director for this one but I think they should re-hire Andrew Davis from the original to do this one then it's more likely to hit 100 million mark becoming Seagal's first 100 million grossing film but never know what will happens but I think it might happen because of higher ticket prices plus the original only grossed 83 million and during that time the tickets were like 3.50 to 4 dollars. Right now it's in 7 to 11 dollars range.

I am actually depending on Into The Sun more than any other Seagal film. I doubt Under Siege 3 will really be made, if US3 is realyl made it won't be as good due to Seagal's age and looks now, (no offense) But we will see what tricks Seagal has up his sleeves after Out For A Kill, Belly Of The Beast, and Out Of Reach (3 dissapointing Seagal moves in my opinion).

Trust me, I know Under Siege 3 is going to get made but it won't be out anytime sooner. I'm guessing probably in 2007. I don't care if Seagal is getting older, the most important thing is to have him playing his own original character. And also accoding to different sources, Seagal is still interested to do 3rd Under Siege film. Clint Eastwood have aged in his 5th Dirty Harry film titled The Dead Pool but he's in good shape that time. Dirty Harry was made in 1971 and Dead Pool was the last Dirty Harry film and it was made in 1988.

I don't follow other people's prespective on many sources. I just trust my own instincts.

I don't like going with instinct in these types of situations, I just wait for facts. ;)

I guess so, I feel more confident with facts because I hear some people say oh Into The Sun is not going to be made anymore or it is going STV now, and it happens not to be true so I just wait for the facts to come out.. ;)

Yeah, the facts need to be proved so for now, we know that Into the Sun is defintely coming out to theaters.
