Luc Besson has recently signed a deal to produce a second trilogy in the Transporter franchise. The deal, with a Chinese production company will see the films budgeted at $30-40m each and at least one will shoot in China itself.
Jason Statham has yet to sign on to the new films but I really hope he does. Frank Martin is his signature role, the one that really made his name as an action star and alongside Lee Christmas it's still his best role. With the success of the Expendables films and his upcoming role in the seventh instalment of the massive Fast & Furious franchise, Statham is going from strength to strength and I'm sure the producers of this new trilogy will be keen to sign him.
