Most of these are him in training for his upcoming movie Kumite.

Reservoir Dog said:Hopefully Seagal will get into shape and not have stunt doubles in his next movies.
Reservoir Dog said:Kumite is shooting this month right?
yudansha said:And the ads for it are already up! Wow!
Will it be filmed all in one place?
yudansha said:He's sure rebounded very well after that Rodman fiasco.
Reservoir Dog said:No. Originally it was going to be shot in the United States and Asia. Now the script has been totally changed, and it is going to be filmed in Vancouver I think. Either that or Toronto. The rest will be filmed overseas. (according to an old Van Damme Forums interview)
yudansha said:Was Van Damme arrested and charged with an assault in the U.S.?
Res.Dog. I didn't like Double Team (the title reminded me of Double Impact, so that's why I thought it would be a good film, and then I watched it...) I also didn't like his "Knock Off" ... it had the same style of Double Team... None of Van Damme's late movies were martial arts type movies. They had some martial arts but it was mostly based on some cheap storyline with bad explosions.
littledragon869 said:Van Damme never films any fight scenes in the U.S. because he is scared of a lawsuit. Just a cool fact for you.
Reservoir Dog said:I dunno. I remember reading in the newsletter that he wanted it to be authentic so they would film in the U.S. because the audience would know if it was just a movie set and they were pretending to be in the U.S. However, if you read the synopsis, the fighting doesn't take place in the U.S. anyway, so they were probably planning on films that only had to do with the storyline.
littledragon869 said:But even if that is so he never films any of his fight scenes in the U.S.
yudansha said:I didn't ask where info came from... Why would he be afraid of a law suit? What kind of law suit? What for? There are tonnes of filmmakers filming fight scenes in the States, so why not Van Damme? What makes him so unique?
Reservoir Dog said:Littledragon, check the second party of the Kumite interview with Van Damme. There is even quote that Van Damme says the American audiences will see the difference and they will shoot the scenes in the USA!
yudansha said:So if he had previous trouble, he's all in the clear now ... maybe that could be the reason why he's showing so much improvement lately...
