Out of Reach US Rating

Just a little update on Out of Reach. The film has gone through the MPAA (America's ratings board) and has been given an R rating for Violence and Some Language. It also has a very scant running time of 86 minutes.

Thanks, gunslinger.

Yes, that is quite a short movie. The R Rating isnt much of a surprise, although since "HPD", you never can tell. I am still awaiting the trailer. I think Seagal is back to his oldself. No more of the abysmal "OFAK" or "Foreigner". He is finally getting back to basics. Good Luck, Mr. Seagal.

What, no sex??? I know some gals here that aren't going to be too happy about that.:D
Thanks for the info Gunslinger!!! Sounds like we may have some of the old Steven bone crunching action in this one then.
Take care

Just don't forget that Seagal will be re-teaming with Oblowitz for that Glory flick early next year:(.

It would have been really nice to see the film rated R for strong violence. I'm not so sure Seagal is getting back to normal. If he was, the later films like Belly and OFAK would have carried harder ratings. If you look at his earlier pics like Out for Justice, Marked for Death and The Glimmer Man you'll see all of them were rated R for STRONG violence, language, etc.

Still have my finger's crossed though.

Maybe im getting my hopes up, but if things continue to go like they are, I think Steven will be much smarter with his career choices. For one thing, the mountain dew commercial was obviously popular enough to help land him a role in that onion movie. Which then will lead to a starring role in the Zucker movie. And last but not least "Into the Sun" is supposedly going to theatres. Plus, there was a rumor on moviehole that if that is succesful, there will be an US3. Hopefully Steven can use the "I am too busy" execuse with Oblowitz, and not make another horrific film.

I heard somewhere that they are both good friends,& that Seagal wants to do another film with Oblowitz:(.We'll see.

Maybe Oblowitz will do better next time? I hope his new movies keep some of the zen/buddhist feel that some of his later ones had. I just cannot wait for Out of Reach.

Well an 'R' is a good start but like Gunslinger says the more graphic violence always gets the 'strong violence' tag which On Deadly Ground and many others. Still Out For a Kill, as bad as it was, was pretty violent and didn't have the 'strong' description. Like many of us though I wish Seagal would get back to his graphic bone-crushing roots as the more snaps there were in his films the better they were! Bring on the trailer...

Guys,do you have any brains at all?All you bloody poachers...It reminds me the old Roman times when people would go and see the gladiators show and they would show a thumb down to see a person get killed...You're exactly like that...But mind it, Seagal is not!

All I'm saying is the best Seagal movies (Above the Law, Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Glimmer Man) were all harder and more violent than his latest efforts, and they were more enjoyable too.

I don't have rage.
I'm not really sure what to think about the running time. Granted it will probably be more action and less possibility of crap, but it also hacks down time for story and character development.

As to the violence and such, I think I'd like to see Steven do more martial arts than firearms because aikido is definitely more interesting than just shooting someone down with a 1911. Exit Wounds had a pretty good mix, I'd say. It doesn't have to be Friday the 13th bone snapping violence though.

Many great Steven Seagal movies are 90 mins. or less. Also, I'm glad to see a "R" rating for this. I do not think it quite matters what level of violence or whatever this movie gets 'cause it'll probably still be great. I think the bone breaking action from Marked for Death had its place, one should not run around breaking bones unless you have a really strong reason (like your neice was just put in the hospital by Jamaican Posse and now they are out to get you). As long as the martial arts are good I'm happy.

Thanks Gunslinger ... good stuff!

Sounds good. Probably gets straight into action as it's not one of those over 100min. movies ... the more action the better I say.
