Silence

I know some people here are interested in meditation, and I was wondering if anyone has tried to be silent at least for a day. If you remain in silence (no humming, no computer, tv, radio) for a day or more you'd be surprise of all the things you've missed out on just by talking.

If anyone has tried this, and cares to share the eperience feel free to do so.

Well I do enjoy just closing my eyes & listening to the sounds around..trying to put a name to every one I hear...
And certain members of my family I will go without replying to-just to keep myself calm & from adding wood to the fire

I think my life is so messy day by day and in such a unnecessary fuss,running somewhere,doing something,forcing myself to do something,forcing myself to speak and being forced to speak when I wanna be quiet or hearing the crazy boss yelling and swearing at me...I think I'll hear silence only the graveyard.

My mom is my crazy boss...Maybe that's why I don't want another one...

You should try.People are different.
Now I would be happy to have my old boss but can't go back any more...at least not this season.So what if I meditate at work?All the souvenirs will be sweeped away then.

BE quiet?!? With four children and a husband and customer pulling in every five minutes. The only time I can be quiet for a long period of time is while I am sleeping.
Jalu, I do have quiet times when I am alone in the car. Does that count?

I have the music now, so the car isn't so quiet...
