Steven Seagal is Submerged Source: Emmett/Furla Films Wednesday, January 14, 2004

Emmett/Furla Films Productions Corporation has announced that it has completed negotiations with international action star Steven Seagal to top-line an additional picture which is slated to begin principal photography on April 1st.

Anthony Hickox will direct Submerged, which Emmett/Furla Films' Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce with Paul de Souza. Colin Green wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and Paul de Souza.

Co-chairs Randall Emmett and George Furla stated: "We are happy to, once again, be working with Steven Seagal. He has always delivered solid, exciting performances for us and we believe coupling him with 'Submerged' will make for an action-packed film that will hopefully appeal to a broad audience. This project is the perfect fit for Family Room Entertainment."

Following Submerged, Emmett/Furla Films will produce a second picture with Steven Seagal entitled, Repentance.

April 1, thats my Birthday. I'm turning 26 :) :) But the best news is that www.comingsoon.net only puts up news about Theatrical released movies..never straight to dvd/video movies.

While I want to say it's good news I'm skeptical. The last movie Anthony Hickox made that went to theatres was Warlock: The Armageddon, way back in September 1993. His last umpteen films have gone straight to video. He's a good director, though. Not to be even more negative but the films Emmett/Furla have made with Seagal have been the awful ones. Gulp!

Thanks for the info Mason...nothing personal but when it actually happens is when I'll believe it

Why you say that Amos? Why wouldn't Seagal be doing these two films?Or do you mean about it being a theatrical release?I agree it is to early at this stage to say if it will get a release on the big screen or not.At least it looks like he won't be wasting his time on Genghis Khan(thank god!).It's strange that there's still no new news on either Into The Sun or Unleashed. There's not enough time to get both these films made before April 1st.

Thank you Mason, very great news.
It seems that movie has a good team production. The last completed movie of Anthony Hickox is Blast! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361399/) that has been wrote by Steven E. de Souza (screenplay of Die Hard). Maybe Paul de Souza is the brother of Steven E. de Souza.

bye.................................

Thank you, Mason! If this is reliable news, I am excited, hehehe...
That is Steven alright, solid and excting!
I am glad to hear this info, but am wondering now about the ones
supposed to be in production?
He sure is mysterious, isn't he...
But, I kinda like that, though...;)

suzziiiii, what happened to the lovely animation of sensei?
I loved it soooooo much!
Oh, well...
Guess I will have to watch the movie again, then...
Oh, what a hardship, huh? :D :D :D

Oh, Steven...
Are you here?
You are thrilling, exciting,
and beautiful my love,
and I totally adore you!

i admit in there early days emmett/furla made some bad films...ticker and out for a kill being to of them but there are an improving production company....for example they produced wonderland and blind horizon both starring val kilmar and both with budgets of around 20 million.....they also have a film being made currently directed by stanley tong and starring dmx and a film starring ll cool j,morgan freeman and kevin spacey which as a 30 million budget so its not all bad news...and by the way they produced belly of the beast as well.

First The Rescue and Yakuza, then Out Of Reach and Into The Sun,now Submerged...to me it's just another new name and now I'm only confused what is what.Unless Seagal's got a few doubles starring instead of him in all of these movies rumored. And who the hell knows what the man is doing himself...hehe:D

Dear Rasta,

Is your copy of Belly different to mine? Emmett/Furla's name is nowhere to be seen on my Region 1 DVD. The best film they've produced, Narc, they didn't even have anything to do with. They "bought" their titles on that movie.

Hi Tora,

and you failed to mention Unleashed,Glory & Genghis Khan!!I agree that it is impossible to make that many films, looks like some of them may never get made:(.

The Rescue was a working title for Out Of Reach-filming is now complete(despite what imdb says!)

Yakuza was a working title for Into The Sun-filming was supposed to begin on January 5th.We are still waiting to hear who the director is on this film.

Unleashed is in pre-production.The director for this flick is supposed to be Ringo Lam.

Glory is a gangster/action flick and is also due to film in the fist quarter of 2004.Micahael Oblowitz directs :(.Go figure!

With this new news about Submerged & Rependant,it looks like Genghis Khan may never be made(at least not this year).

I hope this clears things up for you.

Peace,

Leon

Thanks for this bit of news, Mason. Well done! Whether it's true or not, at least it's something to hope for--not to mention a nice conversation generator! :)

Thanks, Leon! I don't know about Tora, but it sure helped clear things up for me. I admit that with all the speculation and same movie/different names topics, I get rather confused. Sometimes it doesn't take much, though! :D
