ErvinGeoffrey.com Problems.

Erving Geoffrey, a newly emerging clothing line known from its appearances in Ja Rule and Murder Inc videos, is currently under fire from many online customers.

After Shopping at the Official, ErvinGeoffrey.com site, a group of 3 people, all of whom shared an interest in the clothing line's hand washed denim jeans, were scammed out of their money.

Placing orders on the 8th and 9th of March, they received charges to their credit cards within the next business day. Two of the customers submitted their order numbers of #20154 and #20155 as proof, which were deemed valid by ErvinGeoffrey's Show Room manager in their NYC office. However, after 2 weeks went by, there was no delivery to either of the 3 customers, even after multiple ErvinGeoffrey show room employees promised a delivery midway into the 2nd business week. I have just come back in and of course all of my neighbors except one have more time to spend on other people's business than there own! They are all running around talking!
His mother is moving, the neighbor's said they went into foreclosure because he lost his recording contract! Do you think that is true? You might not even be interested, I was just wondering!

MI2 Still Alive ?

Hiring her mother as her manager was one of the smartest things singer Alexi Danielle Panos, known as Alexi, ever did. Last February, her mother met rapper Ja Rule in Florida. As a result, Alexi, who graduated from high school in 2001, will soon sign a deal with his new record company, MI2 (Murder Inc. 2).

The 22-year-old vocalist sings on the hook of "Murder Me," a song on Ja Rule's Last Temptation album. She also can be heard singing the hook of "Caught Up," a Ja Rule/Lloyd collaboration on Ja Rule's latest album, R.U.L.E. Alexi also appears in some videos from The Inc., most notably the Ja Rule and Ashanti collaboration, "Mesmerize." Alexi is sitting on the bed of the room that Ashanti walks in at the beginning of the video and says "Ashanti, what's with the new look."She also appears throughout the video for Ja Rule's "The Reign," lip-singing the hook.

Alexi says Ja Rule is one of the "realest" people she ever met. "I was a little nervous when I first met him," she said. "He's positive, cool, funny, and laid-back. He keeps his word and is more than a pleasure to work with."

A native of Pennsylvania, who currently resides in New Jersey, Alexi has been preparing her whole life to take advantage of this opportunity. She has been singing, writing, dancing or acting since she was 4.

Alexi will sign with MI2 as soon as the new record company is established. She sees her debut album offering real, raw emotions with a great deal of original music. "The music will be pop infused with R&B and hip-hop," Alexi said.

Since Alexi has been welcomed into Ja Rule's working family, she has already met many celebrities, including Pamela Anderson, The Rock and Sarah Michelle Gellar. "Everything Ja Rule said, has come true," Alexi said.

A disappointing rule Rapper arrives ......

disappointing rule Rapper arrives too late and leaves too soon at disappointing Nikki Beach show
By VINCENT JACKSON Staff Writer, (609) 272-7202, E-Mail

ATLANTIC CITY - A difference exists between fashionably late and abusively late. Rapper Ja Rule crossed the line.

Ja Rule was supposed to be on stage at 9 p.m. and perform until 10:15 p.m. Saturday at the Nikki Beach Amphitheatre next to Resorts Atlantic City. He came on at 11:35 p.m. Saturday and finished at 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

Snoop Dogg made his casino debut here in January and was two hours late, but waiting indoors in Resorts' Superstar Theater for Snoop Dogg to perform with a DJ and a five-piece live band is one thing. Being stuck outdoors with temperatures in the low 60s and the wind blowing while waiting to finally see Ja Rule come on stage with just a DJ is another. Ja Rule's tardiness was not explained.

When Ja Rule finally made his appearance, he did perform every hit that his fans had waited to hear - even though for some of the tunes he didn't perform the entire song.

Add on to "Ja to respond to 50 Again ?"

Since his 1999 debut, Ja Rule has been one of the biggest sellers in rap, with hit albums including “Venni Vetti Vecci,” “Rule 3:36,” “Pain Is Love,” “The Last Temptation,” and “R.U.L.E.”

“There ain’t going to be nothing regular about (the new album),” he says. “I’m still working on it. I don’t want to put a date on it and pressure myself. I just want to do it.”

Although he declined to name the new home for his label, Empire, sources say it’s going to be Atlantic.

“I’m a free agent,” he says. “I’m going to play ball on another team.”

In the meantime, Ja Rule is preparing to star in a new movie, “Flight of the Hawk.” It’s based on the true story of boxer Aaron Pryor, a former world junior welterweight champion.

“I love doing movies,” says the Queens, N.Y., native, whose big screen roles include “Assault on Precinct 13,” “Shall We Dance” and “Scary Movie 3.”

“It’s different from doing the music. It takes me out of that whole scene. It gives me a chance to breathe. I get to be another character and play other characters.

“I go outside myself and just think different. I kind of like the freedom.”

Besides music and acting, Ja Rule’s “empire” extends to his own clothing and liquor lines.

His clothing line, Ervin Geoffrey, made its debut in 2003 when he wore a T-shirt in his “Clapback” video.

“It’s everything — couture, every day,” he says. “It’s actually my favorite jeans. I’m not even going to lie.”

At the Nikki Beach opening, he’ll be launching his MoMo Mojito, a pre-mixed version of the popular rum and mint-flavored cocktail.

“What I noticed, I was going to clubs, and I noticed a lot of spots didn’t know how to make them — they don’t carry the ingredients to make them,” he says. “What I did, I put it in a bottle. Everybody can have it in the home, and make a nice mojito at home.”

It’s not just the MoMo Mojito that’s got him excited about the Nikki Beach opening — he says he’s an Atlantic City regular.

“It’s gonna be real hot,” he says about the club’s opening.

“I go to A.C. a lot. I live right in Jersey, so it’s a hop skip ...”

Ja to respond to 50 Again ?

Ja Rule plans to make some noise with his next two recordings. The first is a straight-ahead rap record, but the second is planned as an in-your-face concept album told through his alter-ego, Loki. "It's going to be very controversial, the things that I say on it. It's no holds barred. Loki's not politically correct, he's a person who speaks for the little people, all the people in the hood, all the minorities; that's who Loki represents," stated Ja Rule.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, also will be sending a message to 50 Cent, his arch hip-hop rival. The two have been feuding for the past five years.
"I got some things for him, he got it coming his way, trust me," says Ja Rule, who also called 50 Cent an unprintable expletive. "His downfall is going to be worse than MC Hammer." "I'm going to touch on a lot of situations. I told you Loki is no-holds barred."
Both albums will be released on a new label, marking a break from Def Jam, Ja Rule's long-time home.

Choice FM Ja Rule.

When they said he was finished and the obituaries had been written those who were really in the know knew that Ja Rule would come back and take his rightful place.

When ‘Wonderful’ (Feat. R.Kelly & Ashanti) entered the UK singles chart at #1 Ja Rule silenced everyone in the best way possible. Now on the 18th April The Inc release the hotly anticipated follow up in the shape of ‘Caught Up’. The word on the street is that in the run up to the release of this single the man himself will be visiting these shores for a series of dates as part of a European tour… watch this space.
‘Caught Up’ is classic Ja Rule. Taken from his sixth album R.U.L.E. it sees Ja teaming up with label mate Lloyd to deliver a single that displays both artists strengths. Ja’s gruff rapping in the verse is offset by the soulful chorus by Lloyd with production from Jimi Kendrix and label boss Irv Gotti. The accompanying video shows The Inc boys living it large in Miami it’s all sun, sea, girls, champagne… the works!

Adding to his roles as recording artist, businessman (founder of The Inc, FocusVision film company, and the Mojito liquor company launching next year), fashion designer (his Erving Geoffrey premium Urban wear line), philanthropist and political activist (his L.I.F.E. Foundation programs) – Ja Rule has also established a successful career in film. His latest foray into the movie world was in the re-make of Assault On Precinct 13 which was his 10th movie so far.

Rapper Ja Rule fights to save a tumbling career.

Six years ago, after rap music hit-maker Irv Gotti inflated career sails by producing Ja Rule's knockout commercial debut, the Queens, N.Y., rapper was set up as the genre's next superstar, a guy who was a more cuddly "thug" than DMX and more "street" than Jay-Z or P. Diddy.

Three years ago, after Ja's subsequent releases saw the MC pair up with such sultry crooners as Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez, this entertainer born Jeff Atkins co-headlined the sold-out KS107.5 Summer Jam at Coors Amphitheater.

But this year finds Ja Rule scurrying to tidy legal problems, shouldering lukewarm reviews of his last album, 2004's "R.U.L.E.," and playing smaller venues like Boulder's Fox Theatre, where he headlines on Sunday.

Here are five tidbits about the roller-coaster career of a one-time Top-40 radio darling.

Apple pie in the sky. High hopes for Ja Rule started with Irv Gotti, whose real name is Irving Lorenzo but has used his entertainment moniker and Murder Inc. label to underscore a rough edge. Gotti hit home runs in the 1990s through work with Jay-Z and DMX, both of whom hosted a budding Ja Rule before his own debut. Ja, who is still considered Murder Inc.'s "flagship artist," was expected to surpass those rappers in popularity.

He walks the walk. Despite lackluster response to

2003's release "Blood in My Eye," Ja Rule continued to set a course for commercial domination by launching an acting career ("The Fast and the Furious") and a clothing line, ErvinGeoffrey, which critics charged was set up to purposely antagonize Ja Rule's nemesis, 50 Cent.

Stay out of the candy shop. 50 Cent has gone as far as to claim responsibility for Ja's tumbling career. Research into Ja's background will turn up a number of conspicuous, no-source press releases and "news" stories attacking the rapper's credibility and business smarts. "His career is over. Nobody

listens to his music anymore. I ran him out of the business," 50 Cent told teenhollywood.com about his nemesis.
He talks the talk. "R.U.L.E." found minor success with the R. Kelly platform, "Wonderful." And the few critics who lauded the CD did so because of deep-

voiced Ja's open-book lyricism about a childhood surrounded by crime and poverty. But musical partnerships have always been Ja Rule's bread and butter. He scored coups by teaming up with the likes of Missy Elliott, Fat Joe and Jada Kiss.

Do the crime, do the (gossip-page) time. More than being spotlighted in music magazines lately, Ja Rule has been finagling his way out of multiple legal problems. In March, he pleaded guilty to assault at a Toronto nightclub. And two of Ja Rule's bodyguards are suspected in a shooting at a New York City hotspot.

Meanwhile, Irv Gotti and several Murder Inc. people were charged earlier this year with using the label to launder drug money. And, judging from his appearance on the MTV reality show "Power Girls," Ja Rule has remained loyal to celebrity publicist Lizzie Grubman despite her own public misstep: Not long ago, the PR powerhouse did jail time for plowing her SUV into a crowd outside a party in the Hamptons.

A New York appeals court has slashed damages stemming from a legal battle over a Ja Rule album from $54m (£30m) to just $126,720 (£69,987).

Record giant Island Def Jam Music Group were ordered to compensate independent label TVT in May 2003 for allegedly stopping the record being released.

But the appeals court said there was insufficient evidence for the jury to conclude a fraud had taken place.

TVT's legal team said it would contest the steep reduction.

"This is not over and we look forward to the next round," said TVT's lawyer Peter Haviland.

Contested songs

Def Jam's lawyer called the ruling a "decisive victory, completely vindicating Mr Cohen" - now president of Warner Music Group.

Island Def Jam were told to pay TVT $108m (£59m) in punitive damages and $24m (£13m) in compensatory damages after a jury found the company and its former chairman Lyor Cohen liable for fraud, copyright infringement and interference with a contract.

The trial judge subsequently lowered the award to $54m (£30m).

The dispute arose over tracks Ja Rule recorded with two friends under the name Click Money Click when he was signed to TVT in 1994.

The rapper - real name Jeffrey Atkins - was later dropped by TVT and moved to Island Def Jam five years later. He has since signed to the Murder Inc label.

The legal action came after the New York-based TVT alleged that Island Def Jam blocked the completion of the album.

TVT also said it had released one of the contested songs, The Rain, without the company's permission.

'Vindication'

The original £132m (£73m) award was one of the largest in music industry history.

But the appeals court reversed the finding of liability and set aside the damages awarded.

TVT's lawyer remained upbeat. "We were forced to bring this action in part because Mr Cohen and Def Jam denied the existence of a contract critical to our business," said Mr Haviland.

"This court has affirmed that we did have a contract and that the defendants broke it."

Charli Baltimore Officialy leaves The Inc Records.

Its a sad for Inc fans as yet another female MC has left the roster of The inc Records. Charli signed to The Inc is 2001 and recived 3 sperate release dates for her debut album "The Diary" but unfortnetly the album was never released. There had been rumours circulating around the net that Charli had left the label but none were confirmed until today when Charli appeared on Angie Martinez's radio show to anounce that she has signed to Def Jam on a one album deal. Everybody here at MIO would like to wish Charli the best of luck in her future carer and we thank her for her work with The Inc Records. You can read an article on her new deal below.

Charli Baltimore visited Angie Martinez today where she officially announced that she is no longer in any type of contractual obligations with Irv Gotti & Ja Rule, members of The Inc record label that used to be the rappers home.

Charli, 29, has re-signed directly with Def Jam recordings however, after Jay-Z was appointed president. Jay-Z, 36, and Baltimore go back to her modeling days before she became a rap star. Jay, Charli, the late Notorious B.I.G. & Lil' Cease were set to form a rap group known as the Comission. After B.I.G.'s death, the group took a hiatus before going into record the remainder of the album, however after an altercation between Jay-Z & the executive producer of the project Lance "Un" Rivera sparked an attempted murder & assault charge, the project was indefinetly put on hold. Baltimore & Lil' Cease (a member of Junior M.A.F.I.A. that also included rap superstar Lil Kim) chose to pledge their loyalty to Jay, which meant Charli's album was indefinetly shelved (seeing as she was co-signed to Rivera's Untertainment label) and Cease began work on a solo record, The Wonderful World of Cease-a-Leo: A Long Time Coming, which was released in 1999 to poor reception from critics & fans.

Jay-Z introduced Baltimore to rap producer Irv Gotti who was immediatley impressed by the rapper's natural ability. Baltimore was signed to Murder Inc records, and appeared on chart topping hits alongside rapper Ja Rule & singer Ashanti. Major press coverage & promotion followed on Charli's album The Diary, but after conflicts over album's material and budget, Charli decided not to sacrifice her pride in order to meet industry standards. Jay however was not willing to let Charli go that easily, she was signed to a one album contract, with the possibility of a second depending on her debut's impact. This will be her third debut, counting 1999's Cold as Ice & 2003's The Diary which were never released.

Baltimore announced today on the Angie Martinez show on New York's Hot 97 that she is in the studio tweaking tracks from both albums and recording new material as well. A first single is going to be recorded next week. Collaborations are to include Pink, Bobby Valentino, Ghostface Killah, Cassidy & Jay-Z himself. Until then, Baltimore can be found hosting the new DJ KaySlay mixtape where she also supplies some of her newest material in years, a freestyle & a "hype track" entitled "Not that Easy".
