Russian rock video features Otis
An Otis elevator cab is the stage for the latest music video featuring The Time Machine, Russia's leading rock band. The video is performed in a mock elevator cab built in a Moscow studio and equipped with an Otis car-operating panel from the Otis 2000/Gen2 elevator. The song, "The Place Where There Is Light," is on an album of the same name.
"The Time Machine is a legendary rock band that has been together for 32 years," says Gary Shandalov, Otis Russia sales and marketing director, "the Russian equivalent of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in the West."
The video opens with Russian text reading: "'The Place Where There Is Light,' starring an Otis elevator." An Otis nameplate and logo are seen throughout the video. At the end of the video, Andrey Makarevich, lead singer, thanks Otis for making it possible to film the video inside an elevator cab.
"It's like free advertising," Shandalov says of the video, which is being aired often on Russian television. "We paid nothing for this publicity, and they paid us nothing for our help."
