More people Please

Hi, I have trained in Shotokan for many years, I am trying to get into Aikido. I love the art. I recently traveled close to New Jersey to attend a seminar which I loved. For now all i have are videos(which dont even come close to the real thing), but its all i have for now. Until I find a real dojo close to me. I would love to cross-train in Kali also. Just my info. we need more people in here to get involved into the Aikido section of the board.

I trained in thai boxing and kickboxing for three years and have recently taken it up again. Nothing better than getting to punch and kick someone in the head when you have had a hard day detaining junkheads for concealing leather jackets down their trousers! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

I've been training in Aikido for the last eight years and Muay Thai two years prior to that. As for training tapes, I do possess six volumes of O'Sensei on tape but I have no idea how to post them and put them on the computer.

Hi, I'm aikido black belt.

For videos, you can find many of them in some peer-to-peer applications like kazaa or edonkey: O Sensei, Yamada, Saotome and, of course, who you know!

I train in (aikikai) aikido, (traditional) ju-jitsu and (Wado) karate.

One of the best moments due to martial arts training was in the following situation.

I was relaxing in my big chair watching plain stupid television, then my brother came in and I friendly greeted him with "Hey nerd, whats up?" He reacted by such as "Shut up niggar". Ofcourse being a civilized grown 22 year old man I reacted by calling him some names. He then came up to me and started punching my shoulder from the side / back. As I couldnt really defend myself in the chair position I stood up giving my brother some punches to the chest. My brother eased down and decided to take a sit on the couch. I was satisfied and sat down also. A couple of seconds later after some namecalling again, my brother stood up and hit me on the shoulder again. As a response I stood up out of my chair but then my brother jumped on the couch again in a laying position. I couldnt really hit him in this position so I grabbed his right foot and pulled my brother of the couch. After that I took my brother in an ankle lock. My brother started shouting as a response of the pain. I said he had to say mercy. Ofcourse he did and I showed him mercy. Hahaha.........I still feel good about that one!!!!!!!!

I've been training in Taekwondo for about 1yr 4mos. I'm starting to enjoy it more. My instructor likes to include a little judo in some of his training sessions. It keeps everything interesting.

But to those who do train in Martial arts how many of you know you're not supposed to carbon copy what you learn, you are to make it your own, let it conform to your personal style

I think there are so many Dojos out there & so many that are only in it for the money, that it makes it hard for the true Dojos to stay in business.
