Thanks, tenshiaikidoka! That's what I thought about that police training. I could never get why it took five guys to handcuff one person when they were supposed to go through some sort of training that would prepare one to handle such a situation (that just proves that such police tactics training is useless overall).
Doesn't karate focus alot on strength rather than as you said "simple effective moves?"
