9/5/2003) Ray Lui Leung Wai last month went to Poland to meet with Hollywood star Steven Seagal about collaboration plans.
Ah Lui says, he and Seagal might collaborate on a production company. Seagal would be responsible for the European and American markets while he would be responsible for the Southeast Asian markets. Aside from producing movies, they would also discover new comers with potential for the company and assist with their Hollywood development.
Ah Lui said, he has already begun discovering new comers in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and China. Recently a Mainland female fencing champion and a Taiwan actor's son have caught his eye and he hopes to be able to sign them. Lui Leung Wai says, if he succeeds in making a star out of one new comer, he can make a lot of money. The management department of Seagal's company this year has made US$3 million on commission alone. He has to invest eight figures on this collaboration. At the end of the year they will co-produce an action film and plan to shoot in Japan, Southeast Asia, and Russia. The cast has not been determined yet.
