This photo taken in 1974, is of Steven Seagal being corrected on his posture by Tohei Sensei (10th dan) at Ki Society Dojo, Japan while other sensei look on and try to help.​

Photo of Seagal at Ki Society Dojo in 1974 Japan. On his left is Nonaka Sensei ( cheif instructor Hawaii) and on his right by the window is Imaizumi Sensei (founder of Shin Budo Kai Aikido).​

So even the best were students at one time huh? GREAT PHOTOS! really cool and to think 87/88 ATL he was so nice looking hed learned alot..

Oh got to tell you that one..

I was in LA at that time and one of the Senseis assistants calls me you got ot come over here this guys fantastic..come on over (I lived a couple miles from the dojo) hes getting to do a first movie..(Forgive me Seagal Sensei) but I have seen several B movie MA films and maybe thats why I didnt get excited..there are always newcomers in Hollywood and they not always stand out..but I do remember those final words "its going to be called ABOVE THE LAW" iT WAS STEVEN PRACTICNG FOR ATL OPENING SCENE IN DOJO..

I'm not the only one to miss a golden opportunity listen to this..
about 1963 a new band came out and they needed a new agent/mgr PR whatever and they went to this office to see about representation..(remember their music was considered way out there then nothing like the 50s Thank God).
they had trouble finding an agency and the last guy they talked to said"
Do you think I wanna take a chance on them why theyd ruin me, id be out of a job in a month besides i dont give them a year." someone finally booked them on the ED SULLIVAN SHOW..AT GREAT RISK..

ladies and gentlemen....THE BEATLES...

No one knows what happened to the agent they asked first but I know he couldnt have made in his life what he turned down after that..he'l know that for the rest of his days the ones that got away...WOW!

And to think because of Shihan Seagal I wanted to learn Aikido and now I study in Japan. But I wasn't even walking when those pictures were taken. Does that make me young or old Ha Ha?? Anyway just more proof that he is a Shihan. Nice Pictures. Alittle off subject Does anyone have an address in Japan for Shihan Seagal.

Well yeah,my friend used to date with a guy who thought of Seagal as "a dude who knows just a couple of moves".Of course when she told me that I advised her to break up with him.

wow, cool! Now looking at these, it's obvious that Kentaro does favor him as he was in his younger years...
Of course, Steven is much more attractive (just an opinion) no offense to Kentaro...
But, they look very much similar in some ways like the hair...
I am, as always, very impressed by Steven, but to see him so young is very special treat, these are rare photos, never before seen by me...
He seems so innocent, I think he's just tooooo charming...

Thank you for those great pictures Suzi. It's nice to look at Steven at that age. I was in high school at that time and I went out with a guy with hair like that.
I agree you must be a spy or something to find all these great photos.
You must hunt for pictures of Steven in places that no one knows of.
