A Steven Seagal fan
I became a fan of Steven Seagal because his films are entertaining and I look forward to him receiving an Academy/Oscar Award someday for his contributions to cinema.
If you aren't or maybe one already. Why did you become a Steven Seagal fan on this site?

I won't even lie here.
I HATED Steven Seagal when I was younger...
He hit the scene big in 1992 with Under Siege...and I was a 17yr old tree-hugging hippie chick, who viewed Steven as some violent, aggressive man. I also at that age had NO concept of martial arts at the time.
I even went so far as to make fun of the Lawman promos in 2009, because I still had this misguided image of him. The only reason I even saw his promos was because I am a big fan of Dog the Bounty Hunter. My boyfriend Steve convinced me to watch Lawman....
And after I watched it...I saw someone who was the COMPLETE opposite of my pre-conceived notions. THEN I saw his A&E Biography, and found out about his music, his career, learned more about what martial arts were, and what touched me most, his philanthropic work.
I have been hooked ever since

And after I watched it...I saw someone who was the COMPLETE opposite of my pre-conceived notions. THEN I saw his A&E Biography, and found out about his music, his career, learned more about what martial arts were, and what touched me most, his philanthropic work.
I have been hooked ever since

I've loved my Steven since Above the Law. I was very intrigued that he could actually do what he was doing on screen (Aikido) and swords and healing and caligraphy. I lost interest after onw of his movies I don't remember which one. Then I became a fan again with Under Siege and then Lawman. I thought it was really cool that he has been a cop for over 20 yrs and no one knew until the reality show. He did it out of the goodness of his heart and wanting to make the world a safer place. Not all celebraties can say that they've gone that far. I also love that he always visits childrens hospitals around the world. He may have had a bad rap over the years but peoople are just looking at his faults instead of all of his kindness and talent that he brings. Afterall, he has a 7th degree belt. Not many Americans can say that! Plus he's a expert at guns and tactical weapons and of course he's SEXY!!!!

OMG!!! My fam and friends razz on me too for liking him!! But, just like you, I don't let it get to me....if they don't want to take the time to listen and learn about what Steven Seagal is REALLY about, I say to them, (as we say here in Rhode Island)"Fuggghedddaboutem'"!!! LOL

exactly! u also hear family members say all the fighting in his movies are fake like seriously? why dont you take one day out of the week and study about him hes not like every other fake martial artist in the world idc if hes old are not me & my dad like him my dad doesnt look him up or anything i just say hey dad this is the new steven seagal movie wanna watch it & we do and at the end of the movie he always swings his hand like he knows martial arts Lol or he makes comments like he just got the shit beat out of him haha!

Well if we are being honest here my most favourite actor was Charles Bronson oh yes he could put his boots under my bed any day he was ruggedly handsome and followed him for many years then it was bt accident an good accident that i even got to know about Steven Seagal as i went to the movies with an friend and what was showing but 'on deadly ground' thatw as it i was hooked not only because of his good looks etc but he just has that mystery about him ..as for this website i found it in my local paper would you believe and thought i would take an punt on it being of exsistance and buggar me if it was...and have been here ever since and dont intend leaving any time soon as i feel its an big part of my life here freinds and great people that run the site whom would want to leave ..now Steven Seagal has got me iam afraid and you know what iam glad so i hope thats an good enough answer why i became an fan..at the moment i hope that all is good with Steven if one wasnt worried at the moment with whats happening in his life well we wouldnt be fans i know he look after him self but some times Steven you got to lean on us when your not strong

I viewed him as "violent"....I didn't understand the martial arts being a typical "ignorant" teenager. I hated Arnold, Sly, Jean-Claude, ALL of the Action movie stars...it wasn't a genre I was interested in...

This girl was all about Motley Crue, Poison, Big Hair...etc....THIS girl hated Steven Seagal......
Now, I am a mature 37 yr old, and I very much respect Sensei Seagal and his grasp of the martial arts, his compassion for others, and just him as a person...

Its just an figure of speech Don what Craig is saying is it would be fantastic to see Steven get an award for all he has done in movies and TV BUT it aint going to happen any day soon ..iam hoping that stevens show TJ will be such an great hit in the states that will make it happen..

Lawman should of won an award it was the 2nd most popular TV show on A&E. He won 1-8 nomination while back.
