Marvel-ous Seagal

Theres a new Marvel Entertainment movie being planned around the hero called Iron Fist based on the comic of the same name.Definitely one of my favs it tells the story of Daniel Rand who is trained as a nipper in martial arts by a very secret sect of monks.Rand is a westerner living in the mysterious asian city and grows to adulthood wondering about his origins.
His style is a mixture of bruce lee, jackie chan and van damme combining flexibility, aerobatics and powerful strikes...and yes he has a cute little get up that looks the part. But by far the most crucial thing about him is is name sake-'Iron Fist'.Not only is he the best martial artist(apart from Shang Chi 'The master of Kung Fu')in the marvel universe but he has a 'super power' where he can tune right into his spiritual energies known as ch'i and concentrate the entirity of them into...yeah his fist makin it 'unto a thing of iron' which usually knocks 7 shades of brown outta anything it hits.Well thats Iron Fist and to play him they want to use Darth Maul actor from Phantom menace.Fine...but as far as adversaries go only one name comes to mind who would have any skill to evade Iron Fist.Seagal-he would be a terriffic nemisis with dark henchmen, demonic devices and would certainly suit a part as the evil banished sensei or somethin. Seagal hasn't played many baddies...aahh, one-and this is a very good oppotunity to reach a new audience and definitely lift the movies game.I was always hoping Seagal would land the part of M.Bison in Street fighter.Could Seagal do a comic based movie-you betcha. What does you others feel?Further info on this movie would be great too?!

Personally I don't think that a comic-based movie style fits Seagal. And it doesn't seem to be the kind of movie direction he would like to take.Rather something more serious and even as funny...Well,that's just my opinion anyway.

Well I find it interesting how many celebrities are doing voice roles for cartoons anymore..so maybe someday -heck he did a soda commercial :)

Celluloid superheroes

Heaps of adaptions to be done yet incl.
'Ghost rider'-Nic Cage-'Iron Man'-Tom Cruise-'Cage'-The Negro side kick guy from 2fast2furious(Luke Cage incidently teamed up with Iron Fist)'Wolverine'-Jackman of course and also 'electra' as another example...plus many more...Seagal should look at this avenue given the status of the current stars thinking along these lines.

It would be great if he lent his voice to an cartoon movie but as for comic books not really..its just mocking his greatness...and thats just my oppinion..

I see your opinion heather,as you know seagal is called the 'whispering wonder' and its his presence that mainly charges an audience. If he lent his voice he would need a character suitable(think yoda type or splinter from Ninja Turtles). In the comic world often its the actors that mock the greatness of the stories(think Affleck in Daredevil). This is why so little adaptions are done, though this is changing with the likes of Jess Alba,Micheal(the shield)Chiackliss,Ioan Gruffoad playing characters from the Fantastic Four.Check out Bruce Willis soon to be seen in Sin City.

That would have been cool if they made a comic book out of Seagal.

I think the best character to choose from out of all the roles Seagal has played would be Nico. 8)

This is a great idea Dragon and yes Nico would be first choice and in black and white too, but it would have to be long running issues cos there is so much career change to cover with Steven Seagal, though some mite disagree. An adaption of U.S in a full color mini series would be cool too.

We must think alike.... I metioned the same thing to someone a while ago. I think it would be great. :)

As much as I wanted it to happen, I think now he does not have the star power that he once had in 1988-1992
