By the way, you do know that the IMDB reviewer 'STEVEN DAY' is none other than fellow board member STEVE (who lives round the corner from me!)
He never gives a bad review, and is a true die-hard SEAGAL fan!

Not Bad.

Out Of Reach's plot was very boring however there was some excitment. I liked the fight scenes even though there were not that many. I liked how the fight scenes and action scenes did not have any computer or wire effects and that is a major plus. I think Out Of Reach is better than OFAK, BOTB, The Foreigner. This film is ok, its not bad nor good. But it is not as close as Seagal's quality films he used to make.

My rating: A strong 3 out of 5 stars.

I just watched the movie too. Finally got my hands on it. The dubbing was really silly... the voice sounded like some Con-Man. The action style was realistic and not so loony like belly of the beast or Out for a Kill... It could have been better if there was no dubbing ... and the stunt double could also be easily spotted. But i still like the movie... Seagal looked really cool in it and he at least did 70% of his speech in the film.

Out Of Reach

Ill admit, i watch Steven Seagal films becasue i think the man is possibly the funniest man ever to grace the silver and video screens, from obvious stunt doubles to poor scripts his films have all the comedy qualitys. Howevers, Out Of Reach, from a movie goer view point, is terrible, from the fact Seagal has a stunt double play him in the very first scene to the fact he has a differant guy do his overdubs. Im a media student, and i can tell you this is bad filmaking, Steven Seagal has fallen to new lows, how he watches this film and thinks its good ill never know. At least in his ealry films he kicked arse.

Yes, and we have heard this many many times. But I believe Seagal is making a slow but progressful comeback. Into The Sun is by the many reviews his best film since Exit Wounds meaning it is better than The Foreigner, Out For A Kill, Half Past Dead, Belly Of The Beast, Out Of Reach. Seagal is improving the quality of his films. Now will we ever see another Above The Law or Out For Justice quality type of film? We never knoew. Would we like to, ofcourse we would! But for now we should encourage Seagal and hope for the best. Now matter how bad his recent DTV films he has been making, don't forget why all of us here are Steven Seagal fans, Seagal will ultimatley never let us down. So just keep the faith and hope for the best with his upcoming projects.

I think hes the most unbothered actor ever, hes doesnt seem to mind that hes making films that are off a terrible quality!

I know how you feel because I feel the same way to, but if are mentality is always set to just one negative way of thinking, how can you accept any positivity from Seagal? Like I said keep the faith, Seagal is working hard for his fans and now at over age 51 I am still glad he is continuing to make action movies no matter how poor the quality is. I would rather like to see a "bad" DTV Seagal film then reading about Seagal re appearing at a movie premiere after a 10 year carrer hiatus. ;)

The thing is, he must know that the movies hes making are poor. Its as if hes only in it for the money, which i think he may be. To be honest the only good script hes ever got is US - the rest are just too over done and play out more like comedys.

What do you mean by the rest? Do you mean movies like Belly Of The Beast, Out For A Kill, etc.. or do you also mean movies like Out For Justice, Marked For Death, Above The Law, The Glimmer Man...?

I mean all of his movies, their too Cliché, i mean, its solid action, but its still been done before, and in parts it plays out like a parody, in US he brought something new to the screen and i think thats why it did so well.

Well in my opinion the reason why the majority of his earlier films were so sucessful was because he brought something new to the screen in each of the films. I mean in Marked For Death Seagal's film was the first to showcase a man flying out of a window landing on to a car. In Above The Law, the whole entire world never saw Aikido fight scenes and a dojo scene where a Master of Aikido demonstrates his art in the dojo as well on the street. In other movies such as Hard To Kill, Out For Justice, his fight scenes were revolutionizing for the Martial Arts community, so I believe in each and every film he has brought something new to the screen which explains his sucess, in exemption to his other (DTV moives).

I think really, his early films were right for the time, i mean Stallone and Arnie were bringing out action classics at the time and Seagal kinda cashed in on that, with his hard hitting action. I mean in terms of martial arts, knowbodys brought anything new to the screen since Bruce Lee, mabye Jackie Chan with his stunts, but thats not really Martial Arts. Steven needs to realise that he can be a box office star if he stops taking himself too seriously, loses some weight and if he stops making obviously terrible movies just for the money.

Jackie Chan was more than just stunts. Have you seen movies such as Drunken Master, The Young Master, Dragon Lord, Wheels On Meals, Dragons Forever, Snake In The Eagles Shadow. Jackie was more than just a stuntman.

Ive seen his films, he is a very talented martial artist, however, he has to resort to stunts to move away from Bruce Lee. He's admitted this himself, knowbodys brought anything new or as groundbreaking to martial arts films since Bruce Lee, and i presume it will be along time until anybody does!

What a rubbish movie the only reasons that I bought this DVD was that I am collecting every DVD movie of his and the fact that Steven was in it. The fight scenes were simple and were sweet as always and its to the point its always great to watch Stevens fights I can watch them over and over again and still not be bored. But this movie had a weak storyline and most of the actors could not act. I also got the hint after just watching his earlier movies hard to kill and out for justice that he really did not put much effort in. actually I thought all the actors were not putting much effort in they all looked like they were just playing out the part like zombies just going through with it. How bad and annoying were the voice-overs they were shocking. And seriously he didn’t need any stunt people the stunting he did anyone could do especially Steven.
I rate it a 3/10 only reason I rated it that high was the girl was cute and an alright actor and of course all of Steven
