Anyone (Barbara) know why Steven has to have a 'KANE PHOTO DOUBLE"?? Its on the credits with the guys name....Chris something.

Steven Seagal's photo double is used because of one basic reason - Steven does not have to spend so much time on the set while shooting dialogue scenes between him and some other actors. It takes Steven usually some time to tell all his lines properly and so it does to other actors. That's why they are using photo doubles. The camera goes from behind and we can see double's head from behind (few people can notice it is not Steven). I don't know whether it is normal or not, but I think that it is all about Steven's attitude to work. If he wanted to make everything to perfection, he would spend all day on set and then there would not be any photo doubles.

I was noticing that when I was watching True Justice....that when the camera does a back and forth conversation type shot....that even with ALL the medication I DO have to take, in some of those scenes I was like, "That's not Steven...."

Actually, after spending the day on the set of True Justice...I COMPLETELY understand why Steven has a double. It takes about an entire week of filming for this 1 hour show, and just the scene changes ALONE take awhile to set up.
Steven is STILL giving us ALOT, trust me. Steven writes, produces, and more, he puts alot of work into that show.

I hear that filming can be extremely tiring...and I'm sure with everything else he is doing for the show he is extremely busy. I don't know why we are so into commenting all the time about doubles; a lot of actors use them more than we probably think they do. I would think because of Stevens unique height and body structure it might be a bit more difficult to get an exact match.

Irishgirl, he is SO TALL when you meet him...hells yeah I would imagine they have trouble finding someone who has that build/stature...
(But MAN, only Seagal has that "Seagal Swagger" when he walks....)

In terms of using doubles all stars use them. Their role is usually to be in scenes where the star could be injured in a stunt.
In Seagal's case it would not surprise me if he used one in a scene where he is sleeping on a sofa.
In Attack Force he had a double in many scenes and a voice double to boot. In other words in no sense was he in the scene!
Since he is so busy I suggest his next film be titled :
'Seeing Double' starring Steven Seaga'd voice and body doubles.
Then Steven will be free for other projects like before pictures for Weight Watchers.
