pretty defamatory article

I came across a pretty harsh article relating to Steven Seagal and while some of it seems made up to me, I was wondering if any of you can refute or support much of it.
I for one can deifintely say that the part about his aikido being ineffective has no truth. I've practiced for a little over 7 years(small time in Aikido years), and even from his movies, I can tell he is a technical master. As for the other stuff...

Wow, that article is unbelievable....I'm speechless...Sorry I can't help you, but I think anything you read has to be taken with a grain of salt...If it sounds outrageous I think it probably is...

I agree Suzi, I think it's completely insane...It's just soooo outrageous it's truly sickening...Sounds like they just trying to discrace him...These things make me sooo mad, arghhh!:mad:

We all know how the press takes an innocent situation
and makes something grotesque out of it!

Actor George Clooney is a famous actor and he got ticked
off at the "press" and said some very nasty things about
them. They (the press) ran a campaign against George that
you would make your head spin! He had to apologize to those
creeps before they would let up on him. Now everything is
great because he knuckled under to the "press"!

Steven is just NOT that kind of man. He refuses to knuckle under
to anyone, especially the press!

So, do I believe what was supposedly said/done? Absolutely Not!
These "reporter(s)" try so very hard to make themselves look good but they end up looking like complete fools!!

Well we weren't there for any of this stuff...but in regards to the references about the women problems-there has been too many incidents for them to be all lies-he's a man & like other men can forget there is more to life than just the ladies. (not what else? hee hee)

I do not believe it either...Nothing could ever change the way I feel about Steven Seagal! He will always be the man I admire the most, of course after my husband and Daddy!

Yep, I have seen this article before, I think in Spy Magazine. Its just a few of the rumours that were put out about Seagal when he was at the peak of his career. A lot of the things that they brought up were utterly ridiculous and some just stretched the truth to fit how they wanted to write the article..
I think everyone who knows Seagal has heard the rumours about his connections with the mafia, and the CIA and offering people money to "whack" people that he dont like even as recently as this last trial that he went through..The press has a way to write stories that will help them sell their magazines and they use half truths and rumours and purport them to be real and they talk about Seagal telling lies..
There are some truth in some of the stories but not all are as sinister as magazines like Spy Magazine make them out to be. To Spy Magazine, everything is a conspiricy.

I find it amazing that people can get away with writing stuff like this. As I said before all I know is that Steven's Seagal's aikido is undoubtably of a very high level. To openly disrespect his skill in this art as well as his shodan grading just shows ignorance on the part of his attacker. Further the critic does not seem to understand Aikido when he/she says that Steven has not competed in any tournament. Anyone with a basic understanding of Aikido would know that besides Tomiki, there are no tournaments in Aikido. O sensei himself did not allow or believe in tournaments for Aikido.
The comment made by a certain man that he allowed SS to throw him in a demonstration made me laugh, SS Aikido is what I would term a hard style, one which seems to follow a very martial path, his iriminage( Kind of looks like a clotheslline throw) is a real powerdrive!
Anyway, given that the majority of the criticisms of his Aikido were obviously ignorant or made up leads me to believe that this writer simply has a vendetta against him for some reason.

The name "Spy" Just goes to show you that this magazine is into dishing out dirt, and stirring up sensationalism, I think generally what the magazines do is get a small bit of truth, and the puff it up beyond belief! It's outrageous what they do to sell these gossip rags. The dirtier the story, the more people like it, it's really sick...I think a lot of those folks have something against Steven because he doesn't play thier games and kiss their asses...I admire him for that, he can just let it go, and for that he deserves respect...These people obviously have no idea of his aikido skill...I think there is a lot of jealousy involved in regards to his accomlishments as well...He started from the bottom...He doesn't need them to promote him, he shines on his own...He will always be a diamond in my eyes, nothing they can say matters to me, I will hear it from his lips, or I will close my ears to it...

This has got to be the cheapest outfit if they can;t even spell. The rest of it is trash:(

So Amos who are the mercenaries he describes in the article? Strickland and Goldman Etc??? Didn't the guy who played Screwface also play a band leader in Hard to Kill?:confused:

Sheesh these articles are REALLY bugging me, not because I believe them, but because I ADORE that man! I don't give a crap what they say about him either! He is just a man! Any man deserves respect more than they give, and he is a special man, I think he is amazing, and talented and wonderful, and I always will...I care about this man, and hate to see this smut on this board...Steven if you are reading, Lotus loves you very much! None of these things mean anything! I think you are marvelous Sensei darling, and I support you always! I am sending you love and hugs dearest Steven! :) :) :)

Hallarian-that is the way the article reads,refering to those two as ex merc-ex cia.

Doesn't show that Basil Wallace was in any of his other movies besides Marked for Death
