Question of Aikido: Spiritual Exercise

As you know, there are spiritual exercises in Aikido but I wonder what are they and how to practice?
For example, if someone always bother you and disturb you continuously, what are you going to do?

Hello Benn:
Great question, I am almost a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and that is a question worth addressing, you were wise to ask it for the benefit of us here. Being a high belt i n my 3rd year (there is no final year, just final colored belt year )as Sensei proved you can go on forever and should. You can change types of training as he did Steven has 3 black belts:
Aikido, Judo and Kendo (sword)

When is enough enough?, well that depends on the offender and the seriousness of offense if its a child, no action can be taken against them If youre adult that does not mean you cant discipline them . Should they have a weapon, you must use judgement but you always have right to defense no matter what age.

I do know your rank low belts should never do this ,but you high belts brown plus to black beyond..if you break their trigger finger they cannot shoot you. (and nowadays my master says that applys to ANYONE teen or adult show them no mercy if they have a gun and mean to harm you age is not a factor.(providing their adult sized 15 on they should know better and are to be treated as adults.

Spiritual practice..Samadhi (meditation) is excellent should look into thats what he was doing in "Hard to Kill" with the smoking needles he was perfectly still a healing mind heals the body.

When to defend..only if only you seriously feel threatened , sometimes the best answer is to avoid a fight.. Bruce Lee himself said you know whats the hardest thing to learn in Martial Arts? People gave all kinds of answers none were right so he answers. " Nothing to do absolutely nothing (when you want to fight and you wank away youre a winner, youre alive.

SAS GA....:D

I still owe you a pm and haven't forgotten, just want to take my time with it, hope you don't take it personally...:)

Thanks, SAS GA...

Did he give you that name, BTW?

Lotussan

I got my name by way of the part where I had mentioned I'd be his Guardian Angel he said he could use one as I earlier posted . So it sounded like a name I would like to have because Im alost black belt and we are trained to protect..more than just him. but reputation is one of the most important tings we protect our own and those we care about

Thanks SAS

I think I got what you mean and your opinion really help me a lot. So I know what is the suitable to defend. I asked this question because some people sometimes quite annoying... Thx

Timing is everything

THanks..when you mean annoying I wasnt sure if you meant mental or physical there are different ways to handle it. First of all I found another typo I meant to say I didnt know your rank or if you were in class. for your type of dedication you are what we called spiritual based.

You would be happiest in Aikido, watch "Above the Law" that is respect and bowing (rei ) multi clap is to invite the spirit of the masters to be with them as they practice. My best advice is find a school you really like the higher dan the better. You will learn better when to fight when not to and when to know the difference..our black belts are reserved only fight in class . Our white belts (lowest) always want to fight and we noticed the lower the belt the more fights especially among younger kids..after three years of that youll get it out of your system I swear.

Our difference is if we have to we can fight on a moments notice and pretty likely win, white belts arent so lucky they are newer and more likely to fight like schoolkids..without the training. random punching..doest work too well if he gets a high belt bully (it happens theyre still kids) or adults that just never were trained in what works..thats what were there for to show you that difference.

Theres a VERY GOOD MARTIAL ARTS COMPANY /BOOKS TAPES/everyone should hear about TURTLE PRESS.com its great..Sang H Kim is a PH.D and many are his tapes theyre just excellent he has one of the only few ive seen poomse (TKD forms yellow to black) 1-8 on one tape and he does a great job explaining he goes through each one several times once at slow speed then reg. and tells you the purpose of that form.

Hs just great just like own master VHS (should be available HK) and he has beautiful scenery hes outdoors I loved it! If some of you are already black belt but need the other one to get your lettered belt (advanced) he has a Koryo tape set for you all.

Besides its nice to study with friends..best of luck tou you all!
