Sylvester Stallone's on-again, off-again "Rambo 5" appears to be on again and will shoot in Louisiana this fall, as the Year of the Sequel continues in Hollywood South. Other notable sequels to shoot in-state so far in 2014 include "Jurassic World" and "Terminator Genisys," both of which shot in New Orleans, and the superhero reboot "The Fantastic Four," which shot in Baton Rouge.

Although 2014 is just about over, Hollywood multi-hyphenate Sylvester Stallone is among those already looking to the future. Stallone revealed via Twitter that he has lined up his next three projects: He’ll begin production in Philadelphia on the Rocky spinoff Creed immediately, then shoot Rambo: Last Blood (confirming ComingSoon.net’s own title scoop from earlier this year) and follow both with the mobster biopic Scarpa.

Stallone will reprise his role as Rocky Balboa for
Creed opposite Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station, Chronicle) and Tessa Thompson (Dear White People, When a Stranger Calls). The story follows Jordan as the grandson of Apollo Creed. The elder Creed, played by Carl Weathers, appeared in the first four Rocky films until a fight with Ivan Drago in Rocky IV led to his death in the ring. The new film will see Rocky stepping in as the younger Creed’s reluctant trainer.

It is believed (although not fully confirmed at this time) that Stallone will also direct Last Blood, which will serve as the fifth (and likely final) entry in the action franchise launched in 1982 with First Blood. In 2009, a
rumored synopsis hit for a fifth film that made it seem like Stallone was planning to adapt James Byron Huggins’ novel “Hunter.” At this time, however, official plot details are unavailable.

Scarpa, finally, will follow the life of Gregory “The Grim Reaper” Scarpa, the chief enforcer for the Colombo crime family, who was also an FBI informant for over thirty years. Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner) is attached to direct with the script hailing from Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas, Casino).
Stallone’s original Tweets, which include a peek at his writing office, are posted below:

Rambo: New Blood TV Series will feature Sylvester Stallone in the title role again
Deadline reports that FOX has closed a development deal with Sylvester Stallone to executive produce Rambo: New Blood, a television continuation of the long-running film series. The show would focus on Stallone’s John Rambo and his son J.R., described as an ex-Navy SEAL for the series, and will be written by Die Hard and The Fugitive screenwriter Jeb Stuart. Though unconfirmed, Stallone is expected to reprise his role as John Rambo.
Entertainment One and Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films will produce the series, which has put the previously-reported fifth film, Rambo: Last Blood, on hold.
The film series began in 1982 with First Blood, adapted from the novel by David Morrell, with modest success. It was followed by Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1985, which remains the highest-grossing film in the series with over $300 million at the global box office. Rambo III was released in 1988 and the character would take a twenty year break before returning in 2008’s Rambo.
Development on the television adaptation of Rambo began back in 2013, though reports circulated at the time that Stallone would not be involved. This also marks the second foray of the character on the small screen as an animated series, Rambo: The Force of Freedom, aired briefly in 1986.
