Seagal fan from Belgium

Hello, my name is Peter Hasendonckx and I am a Seagal fan for many years now. We had recently the release of 'into the sun' in Belgium, and it's awsome! Lots of Aikido-action and a nice story. I practice (and teach) Aikibudo, a very old aiki-style, similar to the Aikido of Mr Seagal.

Hello, Peter! :) Welcome to the site. As a fellow fan of Steven's, this is the place to be. You'll find much information here on him--more than any other site on the internet. And be sure to check out the Martial Arts forum. We have several members who are active participants and I'm sure you'll enjoy discussions with them, as well as participating with the rest of us on the site. Enjoy yourself here, Peter. :)

P.S. I checked out your site! It's very nice. Unfortunately I didn't understand the language, but I did enjoy the pictures. :) Is that you in the snow? :D

Excellent, Peter! Thanks so much for sharing that. :) Are you training here, or being trained? Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the proper term for this type of "swordsmanship"? I did a little looking and found the term "Kenjutsu" associated with Steven's name. Is that correct?

@serena: This picture was taken for promotion purposes. So we didn'd move at all! The style of kenjutsu we practice is Katori Shinto Ryu. Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu and Yoseikan Aikido are the 'empty hand' techniques and very similar to the moves of Mr Seagal in his movies. Take these 3 traditional styles together and you have Aikibudo as it is teached by Floquet Sensei. We honor the old schools, but 'self defence' is also very important to us, so we train very realistic and intense.
I teach 2 days a week and once a month all the teachers of Belgium come together to train. Several times a year I go to seminars with the great masters (Floquet Sensei, Harmant Sensei, Sugino Sensei, Hatakeyama sensei, Kondo Sensei,.......) :yin:

Hi, Peter! :) Sorry for the late response, but I wasn't here over the weekend.

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures with us! They are very impressing looking, and I very much enjoyed seeing them. Even if a few were a little blurry. ;) Must be because you guys are lightning fast, eh? :D

And thanks for your brief, but interesting explanation here about Katori Shinto Ryu and Aikibudo. :) You must love teaching to do it two days a week. I'm sure that once a month training is of special interest to you and very informative, as well as a great honor for you, being able to train with the great masters.
