Seagal Possibly Retiring

Guys, I was just over at the "Official" site checking the message board. I had commented along with Tara and Mason, on how it would be a good idea if we had to create a profile and sign into the message board to prevent our screen names from being used. The webmaster replied back that they would consider doing that except for this:

But apparently, I may not get the chance. There are rumors from Seagal's camp this site may be closed down again. For how long? I am not sure. Why? Probably because they are not happy with the progress. Anyway, With the news Seagal is retiring next year, it seems unlikely they would bother putting it online again.


I don't know what is going on with Seagal Sensei, I thought that he had all these projects lined up to do next year. I hope that this isn't true!!!!

Well, he is in his 50's and the ole' bod does begin to slow down a bit after that time; although daily workouts and staying healthy help keep it "young". Making films takes a lot of energy; mental, emotional, physical. Perhaps he's just saying "you know, I need the rest" (as did Tommy Lee Jones to Harrison Ford in The Fugutive). We shall see. We'll have to keep the DVD player handy then if there will be no new films. Ahh, reruns ... lol seriously, I do not tire of seeing his films!
Let's hope that the "official" site will at least give us the benefit of knowing, one way or the other, THE TRUTH (as Sensei loves!)

We will wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do next, if he does retire.
Hopefully, he will continue with his music since we really LOVE it!!!!
Aikido training and seminars with him, would be nice too!!!!

So Donna, did they say what eaxctly he's doing right now? And what are his plans for now before he retires if he will? Somehow I was expecting to hear something like this...
It doesn't matter to me as long as he's physically ok...

Sorry Lotussan, the message I posted was all that the webmaster had to say. I did reply back, asking what was going on and who could we email or write or call to keep the message board open. No reply back from the webmaster yet.

Why would they bother opening up the official site if heplanned on doing this? I wish the official site never opened to begin with. It has brought nothing but trolls and cheap graphics, along with bad news.

Donna--Any way of knowing if this was the legitimate "Webmaster"? I don't know if you're aware, but there was a troll there earlier posting as the "Webmaster", when indeed it obviously was not.

And if he is retiring, maybe he just wants to spend more time with his family right now, enjoy them while he can.

He is getting old and is a legend in the action film industry, he could be retiring next year which will be very sad but maybe thats why he has been making so many movies to probably meaning those are his last ones before he retires.

What I meant, Lotus, was while the younger children are still at home. He's probably been away most of their lives. Maybe now he wants to spend some time with them before they graduate and move on with their lives.

Or maybe it was just a troll posing as the Webmaster and he's not retiring at all.

My personal opinion

Is that this site should have gone through major construction before it went online. It is embarrasing that it is possible to impersonate the webmaster, and possibly Mr. Seagal himself. I am deeply offended and disappointed as a fan that Steven has not taken more interest in making the site attractive and accessible.

Serena, I saw the troll's message there.
Not sure if this reply was really legitimate or not, but it sounded like the REAL webmaster posting. I did email him to see if this was really true or not. If I get a reply back, I will definitely let all of you know. If all those posts get deleted, then I guess we will know that it wasn't the REAL webmaster posting after all.
